Back to basics: How many conversions is enough to test with?

Slightly frustrated that I haven't already asked/figured this out myself!

But how many conversions do you think are enough to start cutting placements with?

I typically run $30 of testing per campaign and come out with around 5, $0.30 conversions. Could these 5 conversions just be flukes? Should I be testing with a budget of $100 for such a small payout?

Thanks in advance

.30 payout, you would need about 100 conversion to get statistical significance.

Well...

You know the earnings from a conversion.

You know the cost per click.

So how many clicks does it take to get one conversion at breakeven?

If that one click for one website ID already spent 3x the conversion rate, it's probably a good idea to stop buying traffic from that one website ID.

Unless a lot of the traffic came from a few bad placements that drained your $30 budget, $30 of ad spend with $1.50 revenue should be enough to decide to call it quits and move on...

That is, unless you have some new angle/creatives that you think will bring drastically better results than your current one(s).

I'm still somewhat confused on what your actual question is though - are you asking whether you should ditch the campaign, or just a placement? If it's the latter, please see this thread on how to cut placements:
