How to "practice" copywriting?

Hey everyone - relatively new to the forums however have a question as I read and practice copywriting:

What is the best way to practice copywriting - ie. sell things/services with minimum risk via paid traffic and track conversions? Is the only way to apply to work for someone else via odesk, etc., and trust your ability?

Thanks!

Start by going to Swiped.. If you can, print out every ad and landing page they have there. This will be your personal swipe file. Especially pay attention to the classics, those ran for years and years and the psychology of people doesn't change.

Couple of books to read as well:

- Ca$hvertising, lame title - great book!
- The Adweek Copywriting Handbook - classic and highly recommended
- The Boron Letters by Gary Halbert

I can recommend you a couple of others as well but I guess this will provide you enough to get started on your campaigns.

For practice, you'll get plenty of practice and feedback when you start running offers.

Hello! I think you would also really like this site as a resource: https://www.udemy.com/courses/search/?q=copywriting

You can find courses that are free and others that cost a certain price. Hope this helps!

How about getting PAID to improve your copy writing skills? Nice, eh?

Well, if you go to www.boostctr.com you can create ads for their customers (creative network) to actually run on the web. If your ad does better than their existing copy, you get paid.

You receive real feedback from running real ads for real people without risking your own capital.

I've done this in the past and learned a lot from it, while making $$.

Have fun!

Just applied to Boostctr ! I had to complete a short test (selecting the best ad and explaining why)

I hope I will get accepted. Great way for people like me with limited budget to get some experience !
