How long for creatives approval?

I sent in some creatives to my AM for approval on Monday but haven't heard back... Really wanted to start my first campaign.

How long does it usually take for creatives to be approved?

How do you deal with optimization if the advertiser is taking so long to approve creatives - say if there's a 2 or 3 day lag?

How long you have to wait would really depend on the specific AM you're working with. Some are more responsive than others. You can only ask nicely, and remind gently, and wait patiently. In the meantime, why not do research on another offer and start brainstorming?

As for dealing with optimization - if you've cut down to your last banner, you can just continue to use that to cut placements, or just pause the campaign altogether until creatives get approved. What type of offers are you running and on what type of traffic? I'm just assuming you're running mobile because you've been commenting in mobile-related threads.

Also - once you start generating some revenue for your AM, you should find them more responsive. Sometimes with so many affiliates to manage, it's hard not to play favorites.

Good luck with your first campaign!

Thanks Amy.

I have been researching further offers and taking the time to do more preparation - reading some more, making landing page templates etc.

The offer I'm looking at is an app install, and I will be running mobile.

I don't think the AM is the issue as she has kept me up to date - apparently the advertiser has yet to come back with an answer though...

Thank you for your suggestions.

Ah....the dreaded advertiser approval! I feel for you. Me and my mastermind group buddies were recently in the same boat in fact. Not much we could do there. Glad to see you're keeping yourself busy like we were though!

Cute Tim!

"Better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission".

Tread lightly. With some campaigns it will be OK, with others you could potentially get sued. Imagine getting a company that makes $1 million in app store revenue a day get banned/blocked from the app store for a few days or a week. A company you just cost millions is not a happy company.

So, use intelligence here. If the banners are tame and it's an affiliate offer, maybe. If it's a heavily restricted offer with serious compliance terms, be careful.
