I met internet marketing / online business about 12 years ago, pretty good timing to start I think.
but, I finally take another type of online business (forex trader) for years,
this take, not make me millionaire, but I did grateful with all the things that been happened..
Now I put all my focus on mobile marketing.
About two months ago I found this forum and finally join it and going mobile.
I find AM was one of most comfortable way for me to catch my dreams.
What I've done
I started this journey with reading as many as I can. and then found that appetizer is easiest to start as newbie.
So, I applying on Desicive, and some affiliate networks.
Doing the initial setup, with ad net, aff net, and
creating my first campaign
First campaign =
Traffic source: Decisive
Vertical: App install
Offer: Baidu
Geo: Indonesia
Budget: $8/day per campaign
Bid: $1.5 CPA goal smartCPM








It means = Now, dont crash anymore, use Baidu Browser. Install!
At first Decisive run so fast. and after get usual with the platform, I start killing bad placement that exceed the limit.
I let it run for the rest of the days and making another campaign.
After 1 day running, my AM talk to me to stop the campaign because the adult traffic ( all of them)
little confusion because I have stopped some placement that have association with adult traffic..
ask my AM, but she still think that all the traffic is adult.
So I start my second campaign
Traffic source: Decisive
Vertical: App install
Offer: UCweb
Geo: Indonesia
Budget: $8/day per campaign
Bid: $1.5 CPA goal smartCPM







no 8 : only can insert 15 image per post ^^
it means = use UCweb, dont make the computer error, too bad for the processor..
using new aff network that have similar offer ( browser install)
I make some other banner and started.
the result of this campaign was=
Bid 1,145,081
win 196,379 (17%)
clicks 644 (0.33%)
conversions 8 (1.2%)
cpm $0.09
cpc $0.03
cpa $2.18
spend $17.46
get exited because I got my first convertion on it
and heading to my second target -50%ROI
but this campaign dont make it (apetizer limit = dont get 7$ with spending 15$)
I was thinking that my angle's suck.
Testing
So I started new campaign will better quality of the angle and banner also.
my goal is to make as many campaign as possible to get the feeling..
but get problem after some cutting on bad placement the campaign won't run progressively at all.
so I did some testing. First using clone. with clone I thought I can get data statistically significant faster.
yes, it got some data, but not significant and had some problem like pretty hard to cut bad placement after it hit 3x payout
(the data is distributed on your separated clones)
but I finally figure out the data through
some other testing include increasing the daily limit, and spending on manual CPM
And I found spending on manual CPM work the best for this problem.
This when I found "wine and dine your TS" is the key.
still have much to learn on bidding theory but I should move to achieve the target at -50%ROI first

the traffic run smooth, not eat so fast that can shock you, not that slow either
blacklist some placement that have reach limit
if you're running on mobile display traffic in indo. there is one monster placement that matters. its easy to discover. just look at mdsp planner. that placement converts. if you're not profitable it's your angles/creatives offers landers.
bid as low as you can to get decent traffic. and test a shit load of creatives /offers on that placement. the hard part about ID is getting good offers. you're the lucky 10,000th affiliate to promote the ones you're promoting in ID on that placement with those angles.
i've tried every ID offer on 10 different networks. it's hard to find one that can really do well. keep in mind that internet connection sucks in ID. So anything over 2-3mb size is gonna be real difficult.
also try different creative sizes. 320s have the most competition/highest prices for ID.
also try different syles of creatives. all yours are the same.
like have pictures of people or something else.
also you may want to add something to the creative that let's people know they are going to google play store.

the monster is in good side or bad? Is it like it can swallow all the budget quickly?
about Decisive's after 10 placement blacklist, its not eat my budget/very slow. is it lack of volume?
monster in every way. like 100m impressions a day monster. just look at the planner.

I've been keep running and making some progress, will need your feedback on several things =
1. During the process I found some placement have good CTR above 2%
the placement is like=

3423432
3243243
and all other numbers
is this include on "bot traffic"? since, I have pool all the high CTR like this into one pools and feed all of them,
until my overall performance have CTR more than 2% but still not have conversions.
2. I try to use supertargeted placement to get positif ROI ( historical is yes) event maybe not scalable.
I saw some people here use supertargeted, able to have decent ROI.
but when I try it, it dont run at all ( my budget is still, the report also not show up ) I try both in Decisive and go2mobi.
Decisive have a little movement. so when I try it at go2mobi I add more placement to get traffic but dont run.
3. Been launching more than 15 campaigns but not working, what should I test first? I was thinking to approch massive offer and split test them. forexample for each offer I have 3 angle and 3 banner and spend 10$ x 3 per offer and if the campaign get -50%ROI than its worth enough to proceed (optimize). Is it good idea to the massive offer first than others?
4. what should we expected to get when asking AM for Top offer list based by volume / epc? Is it like PDF file report?
Several time I ask my AM and the answer is still ucbrowser? ( this week also)
Cant we look the report based on volume ( revenue)? They said its private,, also with the click number/day or month report
I ask further about the report, but they said to look at weekly digest ( weekly mail )
got 2 fresh offers.
will do due dilligent and research

will test US market app install, since the bid floor not have many difference with my last geo
but the payout larger.
