e-commerce in USA 2015

Hi guys I read today a very cool article regarding e-commerce in the US so i have translate it for all of you.

"
Online shopping last quarter reached an all time high - and bypassed the last holiday period data. Since the beginning of 2015 shopping sites sold products worth $ 80 billion, a growth of 14.5% YoY

according to the quarterly report by the US Department of Commerce that was published last weekend. Online trade volume in the United States last quarter was record highest ever and topped the sales of last quarter of 2014 - the US holiday period - (usually represents the Peak of annual sales).
According to the Ministry of Trade, Americans have purchased goods worth 80 billion dollars over the network first three months of 2015, compared to 77 billion in the previous quarter, the holiday season, and $ 70 billion in the same quarter. This is an impressive growth rate of 14.5%.
The most significant improvement is the increase of the total online trade in the US consumer market. In the last quarter, 7% of all US consumer trade were over the network - the highest rate ever. In the same quarter, the rate was only 6.2%. If that sounds low rate, it is important to remember that the rate is determined compared to any consumer market in the United States, which stands at more than 1.1 trillion dollars and includes entire industries that almost doesn't exist in the online market, such as automotive or fuel. Poons Goyle, an analyst at Bloomberg, said that in industries such as apparel and clothing more than 15% of the market is online.
The main reason for the significant surge specifically in the last quarter in online sales is due to weak consumer market in the United States. While online trade volume is growing steadily the past six years, the retail market recorded the lowest growth rate since its 2009 economic crisis.
Bloomberg blamed weak sales in the harsh weather that hit large parts of northern United States in recent months, which prevented the Americans go out to the shops. Macy's chain, which recorded a 14% increase in sales last quarter, also blamed the weather. However, Reuters noted that the sharpest decline was rather large purchases such as vehicles, which strengthens the suspicion that Americans are tightening their belts and buy more foreign-made goods that the prices, according to the average price of a basket of goods - decrease regularly year after year.
Analysts expect the impact on the consumer market is temporary. "Given the improvement in unemployment, the increase in purchasing power and the amount of assets held by the middle class."
-------------------------------------------------------------

There are a lot of Good e-commerce campaigns for US (and other countries) working very well for over the past 2 years and numbers continue to grow as users today have more trust in e-commerce sites and with paying through their PC/smart phones.
if you are looking for a new angle or a new vertical and haven't tried e-commerce yet my advice is start as soon as possible as there are lots of revenues waiting for you there

Wow thanks Guy for translating all this! We're definitely in the right industry at the right time. Online shopping (actually online ANYTHING) is growing at such a tremendous rate, that in spite of the number of people entering the online marketing field every year, I suspect the supply is still not keeping up with the demand.

When I left a promising engineering career in 2006 to go into IM full-time, everyone around me told me I was crazy. Today, they're admiring me for my "foresight". Goes to show that one should listen to one's heart and pay heed to one's intuition by drowning out what anyone else may say.

Thanks again for this information!

even Google cant hold back and look at this niche growing without taking part in it.
and the best part its not restricted only to web its also doing very well on mobile as well - http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/15/86...-mobile-search

A separate e-commerce subforum here would be nice. I'm guessing quite a few people on STM are stacking that $ with ecommerce.

I second that, I initially wanted to post this on e-commerce section but couldn't find it.
Who is the address to open such a forum?

I propose that anyone who is interested with e-commerce should write here and if there will be enough member one of the Admins will open it..

There's an e-commerce subforum under Facebook, but no general one. I think it's a good idea! I shall forward your suggestion to the powers that be.

This is a call to ALL STM members who are promoting e-commerce offers or always want to start promoting e-commerce offers but didn't know how to start.
Add comments here so we could start share more info and help other members to earn.
$60K-$80K per month with the right traffic sources can make you very happy for sure.

An eCommerce forum for discussing arbitrage, dropshipping, Amazon fulfillment and general eCommerce sounds great. Votes please!

Thanks Guy. The original report is here if everyone wants to read it https://www.census.gov/retail/mrts/w...ec_current.pdf

Guy, the comments there are hysterical. I can get behind Doar Yisrael bashing any day of the week.

Hi Guys

here is another COOL article about how the eCommerce niche is rapidly growing in the states as we speak.
http://techcrunch.com/2015/06/16/the...-happy-button/

its about a rather "small" business that turns to a monster "BloomThat Grows Beyond Flower Delivery To Gifts With $5.5M".

think of the potential of working with these types of offers on a Rev-Share with a min of 4% so if we take the number of $5.5M and say 4% out of this goes towards affiliates it means that $220K goes towards affiliates. thats nice but it can be much better
now take Alibaba for example - on the last 11.11.14 (Chinese bachelor day) they made sales around $9.5 Billion sales. You can read about it here - http://www.forbes.com/sites/hengshao...-target-by-15/
i will let you guys do the calculation of how much is 4%

we @ affiliaXe have recognized the potential of eCommerce some long time ago and we are very proud at what we have managed to deliver both to our advertisers and to our affiliates and we would like to continue and share the knowledge we gain with all of you here on STM.
so feel free to ask any questions and we will be happy to reply to you all!

An ecommerce sub section gets my vote. On an unrelated note I have an ecommerce business but it's very quiet. I think the products I sell are seasonal.

Hi STM eCommerce lovers.

another great article that shows where the entire market is going to and its just getting bigger and better
Twitter Gets More Shoppable With Product Pages And Collections
can read about it here - http://techcrunch.com/2015/06/19/twi.../#.ggtgap:AFEU

" Twitter just announced new capabilities that it says “make it easier to discover products and places.”
" Twitter says it’s starting to create pages around some products to provide more information and content. "

have a great week and hope you get lots of Sales

I'm seriously reconsidering focusing my efforts into building ecommerce stores instead of working in affiliate marketing . I know that there's a lot more leg-work in this path but it is getting old for me having a good offers that suddenly dies, an angle stolen and so on...

06-22-2015 11:45 AM #19 affiliaxeguy (Member)

Hi Bimoca
i do suggest you start working on that angle but don't quit your "day job" too soon.
eCommerce can generates you a lot of money but just as any other vertical in AM it will take you a while to reach your profit goals and to establish a well known and working eCommerce site.

so start working your idea into action but maintain your day to day AM activity till you are ready to shift your 120% attention to it.

if you need any help with that feel free to PM me
