We have two new private equity clients that could be taking our business in a completely new direction, which is awesome.
I have a basic knowledge of how the private equity business works but want to sharpen it.
Any recommended books/guides/info.
Thanks!

I am trying to find the more technical ones, these are the easy reads.

What is your finance background?
1. Start with Josh Lerner's textbook which is used in most introductory classes on PE at HBS and Wharton.
2. There are a few PE houses that are now publicly listed, such as Blackstone, so you should definitely pull up their IPO filings.
3. Some more enjoyable, less academic case study based, books include Barbarians at the Gate and King of Capital.
4. There are also quite a few websites for people who are either trying to break into Wall Street or who are looking to move to buy side PE, several of them are worth reading. At the very least, you should work through a standard LBO model so that you understand the main levers of value creation in a typical PE transaction.
Brilliant, thanks Chris

Thanks Adsurfer, got a huge meeting next week and all this really helps.
Hey guys can anyone also recommend any good books and/or resources on specifically venture capital? Starting with basics and ending with ongoing real-life things. The more condensed and to-the-point source/info is the better. Crash courses are especially welcome. Finance background isn't an issue. Thanks in advance
P.S.: Sorry for piggybacking on your thread solaris, just thought it would be a relevant place to ask such question
