What are you paying your landing page / banner designers?
Hey STM,
im right now in the process to outsource all the banner and landing page design / code work, as this is something i dont have a lot of fun with myself doing it. I made a post on odesk and elance and got soem good applications. Now the question, what are you usually paying your designers for the work and are you paying them fixed or hourly? What seems to be an appropriate rate for both variations and do you give them rev-share if a lander or banner is doing really well? What are your criterias for finding a good one? I saw a lot of designers are more into brand work, not affiliate work. Would you even recommend to outsource it or do it on your own?

i recommend doing it on your own and use the banners of the offer from the network.
If you decide to go with outsource after all set a fix payout that you are willing to pay and don't work based on hours as from my experience you will ask the designer to modify and adjust the banners / LP's till you get the right results so most of the time the cost will be higher than a fix fee.
ask your AM to give you information about the best creatives per offer and work with that, after you see some success start adding more creatives on your own and see if the results get better or not.

Yeah...this is a problem that's choking my workflow too.
I can spend whole afternoons trying to source for images and stitch together banners which are barely good enough for Facebook. Outsourcing them are costing me $5 bucks. @adollf, not sure about you, but I found the quotes from odesk / elance too expensive. Got qouted for $30 per banner!

When I started I also thought a lot about outsourcing. The regular going rate is about $5 per banner and if you're starting out that may be a bit too high. There are many tutorials out there on banner creation and I can crank out like 10-20 within 30 minutes or so now. It's fairly easy once you get a hang of it. Here's a good tutorial that I used:

Also, keep in mind that amateurish banners usually perform better than professional looking.
And another one written by vortex:

Use google image search and in "search tools" select images that are non-copyrighted. There are also stock image sites such as

Landers can be a bit tricky, but you can use spy tools to get some layouts and then just change copy, move things around with a basic wysiwyg editor. You can also use spy tools to get banner ideas and then just change them up in photoshop.

i totally agree with you - i was more focussed on the landing page work on mobile and desktop as on the banners in my questions. Banners are easier and more a reflection of the landing page. In regards to the landing page do you pay hourly, fixed or revshare or give bonuses? Or would you recommend doing on your own?

Looks like Filipinos ... Check this: http://easyoutsource.com/
You'll get lots of applicants, so get some process to filter the good from the bad.

Have you used this website before?
Thought my question was quoted for randomdude, so yeah, I'm asking about easyoutsource.
