Per Day Budget VS Lifetime Budget?

Hey guys,

Below is using oCPM as bidding method.

What is the difference between what the title says? I understand it spreads your budget over that scheduled period yes but does this go for optimisation aswell?

i.e - If you use per day budget it restarts at midnight right.... does it restart optimisation for the day aswell or does it continue where Facebook has optimised to from the previous day? Make sense??

Yeah if you set lifetime budget your total budget will be spread for the amount of days you gave. Let's say you set $250 lifetime budget for 5 days you'll spend $50/day and Facebook's algo will optimize your CPM bid according to that. You shouldn't worry about paying more the next day, it all boils down to the ad you're running. If it's getting a lot of engagement you're gonna pay less and less as time goes and money spends.

Optimization may start over if you pause your campaign for days...

Yeah I thought so, but if i ran a Per day budget campaign will the Optimisation Facebook done for that day reset at midnight thus starting again optimisation placement?
I've always ran per day you see but wanted to try it as a life time budget because on per day budget I'll get a wicked CTR the first day (9% for example) then the next it will drop to 2% so i end up pausing the campaign.

How much do you spend tho? You need to spend some money to get realistic results. Even if you set your budget as lifetime budget your CTR will even out throughout the days...

Right here is how it went.

I started the campaign at $20 a day for testing purposes, ran a few days, all hunky dory! So i upped it one midnight to $50 just to see if it held. It didn't, the CTR's shifted from 9% to 2%.
My demo is 4mil+ and frequency still 1.0 so I cannot for the life of me guess what is going on there. I used to spend upwards of $2k a day when i ran rebills but I can't even run at $50 a day atm

By the way this was Daily not life time ^^

Whilst i'm here as well fbqueen...

I started off using a conversion pixel, not for any particular reason as I track my own stuff but do you know if allowing FB to see the conversions happen changes the campaign in anyway (CTR etc) ?
