Best way to test angles ?

Hi Guys!

I came up with a lot of angles for an adult dating campaign. But what is the best way to test this ?

* Do you test all angles in one campaign ?
* Do you make identical banners with different angles to test ? (when you would make different banners per angle, you would add the banner design in statistics mix )
* How many angles should you test on a limited budget ($100/day) ?

Didn't found a lot on how to test angles.

Thanks,
WW

Test one angle per campaign. Don't rush it.

I'm really not a big fan of trying to do the "one banner per angle" thing - there are way too many confounding variables to make it a solid test. In addition, landing page copy plays a big part in angle design - using a single generic landing page will sell most angles very short indeed.

$100 a day is a decent budget to test - is this mobile or Web, and what's the payout of your offer?

It's web traffic with a $2 payout. The landing pages are generic ones as the offer url's already have some landing pages before the offer.

Thanks for the feedback!

You may (in fact, quite probably do) still want to use a single prelander of your own. Contrary to popular belief, adding another page to the signup funnel doesn't always reduce CVR - indeed, it can often increase it by tailoring the traffic's intent more precisely to the offer.

Given that payout, I'd definitely go for 1 angle per campaign, and just cycle through campaigns. With your budget you should be able to launch 2-3 campaigns a day at least (time permitting), optimise, and quickly see what angles hold potential.

What do you mean by 1 angle per campaign? If you run an angle and it clearly bombs after day 2, would you not just try another angle on the same campaign, and keep cycling angles until you found a winner?
