Creating a sense or urgency when promoting free app downloads

Hello all,

I am new to mobile.

To start, I am taking a stab at a few low payout mobile offers that require free downloads.

How do you guys create a sense of urgency for a free download app?

I don't have a free gift to giveaway. It seems phony to place a false time constraint.

It would be really helpful to learn what y'all are doing.

Thanks in advance!

"It seems phony to place a false time constraint."

That's one of the biggest mistakes right there. Don't make decisions based off your feelings. Test and make DATA DRIVEN DECISIONS. You want to treat affiliate marketing like a scientist.

Your goal is to get the conversion.

The two classic ones are

1) Time constraint

2) Limited supply. It's up to you to come up with the angle that works. "The App is FREE until May 8th, 2015. After this we will increase the price to $1.99"

I respect your decision to not want to add a false time constraint.

Why not use angles like:

All those are true, but should still add that urgency effect.
