Do You Remember Making Your First Dollar With Affiliate Marketing

I made my first dollar with Clickbank when I first started out, I would rank YouTube videos by building social signals.
I managed to generate my first dollar through this. What about you Stackers?

Good old Clickbank, right. Around 3-4 of my friends made their first bit of money online with them too.
The CB produce I sold was related to world of warcraft I believe.

I launched a price comparison site for video games, bought some traffic from FB for £20 and made £80. Everything changed after that.

Videos worked pretty well with me but you must be careful, I used to just post over the top titles such as (XYZ DOES NOT WORK) or (XYZ IS A SCAM READ THIS BEFORE BUYING), yes, far fetched but the point was to get the viewers attention and that worked. Although, having videos is one thing but getting them ranked is another, right.

Don't ask me why but I have always loved facing hard tasks, overcoming things like SEO by tinkering around with SEO tools just does it for me. Some like fast cars and hot women, me, I like learning and mastering certain things. And, yes, I was always that annoying person that would be ranked at the top of the results. Don't have much time for SEO these days though, might ranks some stuff for fun soon and share the results on here.

When I started to rank videos I would build manual links which kind of failed, afterwards I worked out the social signals worked a dream so invested into some social bookmarking tools and blasted the videos, it worked, I was ranked up high for some big keywords and would out rank anyone.

Then the game changed and it did not work anymore, but, even if you don't know how to blast videos you can still take advantage of using videos be it with new CB products or others. If you get in EARLY ahead of the crowd you can rank super fast with ease, why, well because not even the owners have yet ranked that well, so get in there fast.

If I go out right now and find some super fresh new courses/products that are doing well on forums/CB, I know that by getting in super EARLY it will give me the upper hand as there's no competition, I could knock up some review videos, build some social signals and add some views, comments, likes and perhaps even invest into a gig or two over on Fiverr and then get it blasted, see, your videos WILL rank because again there is next to no competition. You can get your reviews showing on Google/YouTube in no time and you will generate some revenue too. See, if someone is about to buy something they normally Google the name to see a review.

Tip - When I targeted CB stuff I'd always change it first to (Gravity) and would ALWAYS look for for the rebill stuff (on going monthly revenue from the same product).

Heh, technically I earned my first affiliate dollar in something like 2000 with the Amazon Associates program.

Didn't get into it as a serious muse business for a good long while after that, though!

That is one thing I never got around to trying actually, Amazon, I considered it but drifted into content locking mostly.

PS

Check out my suggestions I posted two today:
STM Content Locking Section
Similar threads feature for STM below threads [found the latest best plugin for STM]
And one yesterday: STM Follow Along Incentives

I worked with niche sites and a few youtube vids. Did OK but it was lame when I look at it afterwards.. I'm going to test some in combination with my current tactics and i have high hopes.

If you keep chipping away it will of course end well for you buddy, the SEO game changes more times than my wife changes her shoes on a monthly basis.
I know social bookmarks worked well for me, blasting the heck out the videos with up to tier 3-4s from all platforms did too.

For me my first "internet money" was from adsense many many years ago.

On the other hand, my first affiliate commissions came from Clickbank ( movie streaming products ) and MaxBounty.

I think my first was through selling WWE wrestling belts to wrestling fans in Mexico haha.

Nice, movie streaming can make a ton of cash. I wish there was a Mayweather rematch, that's all I'm going to say.

Haha, this deserves a fresh dedicated thread:

"What's the weirdest method/trick/product you ever made money with?"

Haha, I've sold some 'weird' toys via the Amazon affiliate program as well.

My first Internet money I made was $17 in commission. Someone bought a saxophone on Amazon via my links on one Squidoo lens back in the day

I think my first internet money was from selling RapidShare accounts created from points I got when I shared movies many years ago

First success I had in IM was from building out adsense sites using scraped content, en-masse. Basically I fed keyword lists into a tool and it would scrape content from around the net to build out sites with my adsense code on each page. I got up to 1k+ sites (.info sites only cost $0.99 back then) and was doing $100+/day for a while. This was back in 2007 when it was so much easier to game google...

Adsense for me also, back in 2004. Infact, it's still ticking away nicely to this day.
