(guide) How to Run TaxSlayer App Install Offer on Facebook

In this guide you’re gonna learn how you can directlink your ads to an app install offer. You need to be aware of the fact that Facebook requires you to input your app store ID, but since you’re an affiliate of that app you are most likely won’t be able to do so. Instead you have to go around Facebook’s system and do a little trick.

In this guide we’re showcase a Google Play App called “TaxSlayer Go – Efile Taxes” from F5 Network . Payout is $1.60/install. US only traffic. Since it’s an Android App it’s obvious we are going target Android phones only.

When you want to check the URL from a different country you may use the help of a VPN. In this case we’re using Buffered – a kickass VPN service.

Since it’s a mobile offer you will also need a User Agent switcher plugin on your browser. Firefox Mozilla has a couple of options for that. Highly recommended to use “Random Agent Spoofer”:

Okay so now that you have a clear understanding of what you’re about to set up, let’s get to work!

When it comes to Facebook you have to be innovative and creative because sometimes it gives you a hard time setting up a campaign. Their algo changes week-by-week so you need to keep yourself updated with the changes.

You can set up an app install offer and it’s all legit BUT Facebook may not like the fact that you’re not the owner of the app so you will have to go around their system and do a little trick.

Before you can go to Facebook’s Ads Platform make sure you set up a tracking link which redirects to a page that is relevant to your ad and offer. In this case I have picked a tax app so I googled “best tax apps for android” and found this article:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/...ndroid-iphone/

In your tracking tool you should be able to set up a simple redirect rule which can be changed easily after your ads are approved by FB.

You’re advised to set up a Facebook Page related to your offer and ad so you can create post ads.

Now go to your Facebook Ads Account and download Power Editor (Note: you need to be using Google Chrome to access PE)

Click on the Plus sign within the Ads Column and create a new Ad, Ad Set and Campaign

In “Campaigns” OBJECTIVE should be “Website Clicks”.

In “Ad Sets” OPTIMIZE FOR “Clicks” and set a bid of $1.00 (Usually 3x more as the suggested bid.)

Also make sure you only select Mobile News Feed as place for your ads on Android phones. (Optional: If your tracker allows you to track phone types you may install a postback tracking pixel in the CPA Network but you need to ask your Affiliate Manager to help you with that. You may find out which phone types convert the best and you can optimize on your campaign for maximum ROI)

In “Ads” you can set up your newsfeed mobile ad:

Okay, don’t panic, I am about to show you how you can get this outcome you see above.

Pull the tracking link you have and place it to the “Website URL” field. Then fill out the “Display URL” field with Google Play Store’s link. Add an image which you can either get from the network or you can get a graphic designer create one for you or you can just download images from google. Here you can go creative and you are advised to test multiple images to maximize your CTR (click-thru-rate).

Study the images below and you’ll understand the process:

Okay, so if you may be wonder how Google Play Store or the App Owner will see who sent that download, just look at the affiliate link you pulled from the CPA Network. It should have “affid=xxxxx” or “a=xxxxx” in it which is your own identification code and once someone clicks on your ad, your tracking tool will redirect to this link which will take the visitor to the Google Play Store.

Important: Once you have your ads APPROVED/ACTIVE change the link in your tracker so your ads are DIRECTLINKING to the app.

EXTRA TIP: If you have found an awesome video ad for your app you may download it and create a “Video Views” campaign with the same method described above.

After you’ve uploaded your video and selected a thumbnail image for it, select a “call-to-action” button which should be “Download” and then add your Tracking URL and Display URL.

Again, you can test several videos or also play around with testing several thumbnails, it’s all up to you!

Have fun and don’t forget to make data driven decisions!
