WhatsApp-Spamming?
Hello,
I just received a whatsapp message from a phone number that I've never seen before. It includes a short text and a picture (creative) that tries to make me call some number to get „a mobile friendly website at affordable cost“. I don't care about the offer, but: How do people send automated messages via whatsapp to promote products? Are there any services or tools that can do that?
Best,
buddstr
PS: If you don't want to answer publicly, shoot me a quick pm.

I think they are using some sort of API -> https://github.com/mgp25/Chat-API
You will NOT use this API for marketing purposes (spam, massive sending...).
We do NOT give support to anyone that wants this API to send massive messages or similar.
We reserve the right to block any user of this repository that does not meet these conditions.

Ive had several as well - no doubt this problem is going to increase over time.
Here is a great analysis of WhatsApp spam posted last Tuesday
https://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/00002809.html
21k clicks not bad from a country like Finland - Imagine what the larger Geo's will do.

Im not saying spam users of course - but keep an eye on whatsapp platform as it may turn into a nice traffic source at some point.
Or - with the increase of spam - a campaign angle to "stop spam" may be an idea

Not heard about that one yet to be honest, I do know WhatsApp are VERY aggressively cracking down on spammers though. In fact, networks such as CPAGrip, AWM have outright banned their affiliates from using niches on WhatsApp too. I would personally stay away from it because if the networks are scared imagine what you will do if you get a red letter though the post from them.
