Bidding strategy? (11)

Bidding strategy?

I'm having a hard time figuring out the bidding strategy one should use here.

What's the best option with starting a new ad/adset? Optimize for website clicks?

I had 1 adset more than double in CPC after a few days out of the blue, even though the CTR was 15-20%! What's the strategy here? Change the campaign to optimize for clicks and set max cpc?

Is there a guide on bidding strategy for facebook somewhere? I'm so confused with facebook's bidding platform.

Sometimes I get 2-5 cent clicks other times the ads become 20-30 cent clicks even though its the same.

It really depends on what QS your account has.

When you optimize for website clicks try to bid 3x more as what's suggested. I usually just put $1 as max cpc. If your ad is engaging enough your cpc should lower as you spend more and more.

Do you get likes, comments and shares on your ads? 15-20% CTR is pretty nice tho!

My suggested bid is $5 for website clicks, is that bad? 3 times more would be $15, now thats a bit outrageous for a click.

@OP - sorry to hijack your thread but im a bit confused as well.

Yeah $5 is way high.

There are ways to lower your suggested bid. You need build up your Quality Score.

One way I can suggest you is to set up an ad that you know will get lots of likes, comments, shares (in other words engagement) and high ctr. Try to keep traffic within FB so just do a page post and boost it. Blow some money on it, it will pay off in the long run with your money making ads.

$5 seems to just be the default bid for clicks to website. I warm my accounts up with ads that get 10/10 relevancy score... I get 1 cent post engagement clicks all day.

Is there a way to find out overall account quality score?

$5 default bid will be the oCPM bid when optimising toward clicks (oCPM:clicks, segment of audience targeted = the clickers). This is different to the suggested bid when bidding CPC, which is always a range and of course is a CPC rather than CPM mode.

There is no way to see account quality score and presumably never will be. It's definitely a thing most, if not all traffic sources will only reveal internally. Otherwise people would quickly learn how to game their scoring system.

Hey do you have any tips on how to create ads with 10/10 relevancy score? I notice that the score tends to drop once traffic starts to roll in.

Btw, from what ive read there's no way to find out whats your overall quality score is. This post by fbqueen might help http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...610#post214610

My suggested bid for CPC is $5 .May be its because 2 of my ads got disapproved? Anyways Ill try to do what fbqueen suggested and see how it goes

10/10 score is easy, primarily based on CTR.

Get high CTR by pimping compelling ads targeting towards specific interests.

Spend sometime on buzzfeed or other viral sites to get an idea for the kind of crap people click on.

Maybe, I've never seen a suggested CPC that high but it could happen if your account had terrible history and the demo was competitive.
