Tapgerine response

Hi guys,

a few days ago I've send run offer published on Tapgerine. Next day I contacted my AM and ask him a few things about the offer I was running. One of his answer almost shocked me.

I have shut-down campaign immediately and I lost confidence in this network.
What would you do if you were me? Would you continue to run offers from this network?

Maybe you can ask for another AM...
Tapgerine is a proper CPI network, when your AM doesn't now anything of the TYPE of traffic he's sending trough his network it's hard to get any other info to help you out.

Maybe he thinks that you are asking for specific sources?

i'd run

@Mr App : it could be his 7-y.o son, or a girl next door hijacked his account.. you better turn your cam on, just to make sure #lol

To be honest you will have to look hard to find networks that don't run offers themselves.

In fact, you have to look hard to find ad networks that don't run themselves these days (and I'm talking specifically about mobile pop - wink wink)

Yeah, that is very unprofessional and disturbing. So they are taking best campaigns from their affiliates and run them on the side?

some AM would like to share the (someone's) top performing LP, that's a benefit (from our side)

what will happen if we develop our own good converting LP from scratch.. how can we protect our LP from our (own) AM ? is it all about trust ?

I would keep running tbh, you will find the same situation pretty much everywhere these days..

I would just ignore it...

1. It could be a completely empty comment in jest.
2. If they did try their own campaigns, who says they are good at it - if they were, they would likely not be an affiliate manager right now.
3. Someone is going to eventually try and steal every creative element of your campaign anyway. It may as well be someone you have on Skype xD

In the future I would call them out on it though... e.g. "Dude, as an AM you should be careful with comments like that, it will build distrust as you're basically admitting to using privileged data from your affiliates to compete with their campaigns internally."

All networks run in house campaigns, can't avoid it. But that AM is dumb as a rock

I think you're misinterpreting his response. He's an affiliate manager, if he knew how to convert traffic he'd be an affiliate instead of working a salary.

What kind of question is that anyway? Any response someone gives you will be bs anyway.

I've same AM over there.

You just took it too personally in my opinion. It's just an answer.
If you're making money, run the offer. Simple.

So then wouldn't it not be a bad idea to send them as little info as possible about conversion data? Do all high quality affiliates do this?

That's counter to working effectively and transparently with the advertiser, which you want to do (if you are running things cleanly).

In most cases you want to share only the minimum required for your goals (which should include assessment of lead quality).

Hi Guys

as an AM and "old" affiliate i would keep running it, you said its been working pretty well so just keep the campaign live till it stop performing.

the answer of the AM can be either he is casually speaking with you making you feel more "free" with him or he don't know/ don't want to share.
earthier way I would have ask him to check this and get back to me as soon as possible and even try to lower my traffic to leverage him, or say you can increase the traffic with the right source.

take in mind that the answer you will get wont be 100% based on true feedback.

so at the end split test and split test as much as you can, you can find better ways that no one has tried before

Hi, We are disappointed that you had negative experience working with Max though he has assisted many STMrs successfully in increasing their earnings. Our managers are perfectly aware of the traffic types suitable for each campaign and are always happy to share this info with our affiliates. In this particular case the manager just wanted to be more friendly and open. Our network has proven itself as a trusted partner to more than 5k affiliates including many STMers, there are zero reasons for you to loose confidence.
Please let me know if there are any assistance you might need, I will take care of you personally. My name is Tatyana, I am team lead of publishers dept.
