Question for you people running campaigns on mobile!
Has anyone been able to leverage mobile user data?
Mainly IPs, UIDs etc. (I'm not talking about gathering email addresses and phone numbers.)
I know a lot of companies/affiliate are starting to utilize web data mainly through retargeting. Whether it's promoting similar offers to users who have converted before. Or gathering IPs from FB and then promoting rebills to them through mainstream media buys.
I think there is a lot of potential but not exactly sure how to leverage all the data we are getting.
Let me know! (or PM if you want to keep it low key)
.
I've started building lists with go2mobi (see here) but am not doing enough volume yet to really make use of the data.
Not on the tech side of the business so please forgive me if I come across as a blathering idiot, but I can tell you that our retargeting functionality uses a combination of different device IDs to identify a specific user.
There can be as many as 3 IDs tied to a specific device- some of these IDs are more unique than others, so our retargeting function identifies the most unique ID for that given user and places them in the appropriate retargeting "bucket". Anecdotally, we've seen a roughly 6x increase in CTR, and 4x increase in CR. I haven't heard anything concrete, but I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to push out some sort of case study on this subject.
The biggest issue right now is amalgamating enough data to scale a campaign effectively. We see advertisers testing their buckets all the time, pretty much always profitably, but unable to spend more than $20ish a day. Need to see some bigger buckets before the data is conclusive.
If anyone had an existing list of device user IDs, I believe we should be able to upload it into our platform for future retargeting.
