All aboard? Join me for my first follow along

Welcome to my first follow along! And im sorry for my English, it is not my native. Hope you'll enjoy! at least like myself

Traffic source - Airpush
Aff network - Yeahmobi
Offer - paytm
goe - IN
Budget - 600$ min, monthley, depend on income.

So basically I'm running this offer for quite long time..I'd say few monthes.
I have been testing lots of different banners, and different angles, different methods like in app display, overlay ad, mobilesite in app etc.
so far i spend on this campaign - 1142.61$ on airpush alone! i tried it also on decisive spending like XX$ not much, but for this follow along i will refer only airpush.
the pauyout was moving betwin 0.5-0.8$
The # of conversion is - 413 total from all paytm's campaigns. only on airpush.

Now it is already been told that i tried a lot to get those campaigns to profit but still with no results.
I have managed to raise my CTR from 2%-3% to 8%-10% and the CR from 0.X up to 7.41%.

So now i have 3 running campaigns .. one of them is the broader campaign i started about a month ago, give or take. I launched it optimized a bit, and for now it is a bit profitable my CPA is 0.34 while currently the payout is 0.5. the number of conversions today for exp. is 3.
The 2nd campaign is a split test, which now i understand i did wrong after finishing reading all the newbie zone. i splitted the carrier, the states, the brand & os, all on one campaign...and that is wrong, right? i should have done one splitted campaign for each parameter, right? for all this time i was adjusting bids trying to raise volume and it worked but i didn't get to profit, till yesteday that i lowered my bid and get to very little profit on the broader campaign, but terribly low vol.
The 3rd campaign im running, is the same as the 2nd, with some new made banners i paid for animator to make for me. at first it was working good, high volume and CTR, almost profit. but after i tried to lower my CPC the volume decreased significantly!

Now after i finished reading the whole newbie zone and some more threads, i reached the "Mobile cookbook - The Apptiser" and started fresh with decisive, trying to reach a small but steady profit.

I launched it yesterday.
i have put all the banners i have made ever for this offer + 10 more txt ad's.
I made 4 campaigns, broad as possible.
so far each campaign spend about 9$.
one campaign - wifi+app has 5 conversions.
carrier + site campaign has 2 conversions.
carrier + app 1 conversion.

umm...this is what im listening to right now:

untill next time!

Hi all!

So im running 2 offers right now, one is paytm and the other is battery saver offer.
paytm offer:
i had 4 campaigns on decisive. i waited for them to get to 15$ spend. well they did. not a single one of the reached to 7$ payout..there was one campaign who riched like 5$ or so..so any way i stopped them all.
in the meantime im still running 4 campaigns on airpush that are bringing some conversions but not profitable. i have split tested the affiliate network, i ran it also from furthermobi, but the way it seems to run it's not my cup of tea, but im waiting for the 15$ barrier.

i was reading tons of threads on angles right now, so i took a blank piece of paper and wrote both "life force 8" and "7 sins" and put them on the wall, right infront of my eyeballs, so everytime i think of angle i would go through it.

So now im sitting and thinking of new angles for paytm although i have already spent like 1200$ on..but it converts..it feels like so hard to walk away from this. should i continue trying?

battery saver:
I sat down thought of like 6 angles, chose one and I made like 5 banners, completly different, and i had like 7 more from old times. that looks good, and that i have never tried yet. I launched 2 campaigns on airpush, one is wifi and the second is carrier. relatively broad campaign.
payout: 1.6$
cpc: 0.02 min
so right after i launched it i recieved a conversion, i think it might be from spying or something...or not. any way the states are like this:
313 clicks 1 conversion on the carrier campaign CTR - 2.21%
on the wifi campaign 182 clicks no conversion CTR - 3.65%.

for now im thinking of new angles for both paytm, and the battery saver to try increasing the CTR.

have a great one!

one!

paytm:
I uploaded the 7 sins campaign, it brought me 6 conversion which means 3$, for 15$ spend. so i stopped it.
along with that, i stopped all three campaigns of paytm that i was running, i can't continue forever like this. after spending 1200$+ only on that campaign, i learned a very important lesson: that a campaign can drag you to lose very easly. and i must stick to the 15$ rule!
so now i have one running campaign on airpush which is the affiliate network split test for paytm. when it reaches 15$ i will check what is going on.

battery saver:
i had 2 campaigns running on airpush. the wifi brough to me only few conversion and nthe carrier brought me no conversions at all, so i killed them all.

So now im on my journy on finding new campaigns just by the book! im not giving up!
The affiliate networks im looking in are:
yeahmobi
furthermobi
matomy
mobco

generally im looking for app install, with a payout under 1$ that can be found on at least 2 networks, and for Asia region specialy IN.
for traffic source im going on decisive.

So i have found flipkart IN offer. have it on 3 networks payout is 0.5$. Im sitting on angles now and than creating some banners and LP.

So ill be back after that.

Cheers!

Ran

So here it goes,

I did some research on google play for flipkart offer, and this is what i came with:

i have found that costumers having problems with the app itself, it has an issue of eating a lot of data, and due to that it force closed many times and some times even shut the whole mobile or other apps.
costumers where more satisfied with the mobile web site.
there are some delivery limitations regarding geo.
costumers with HTC phone were more likly to have problems with the app.
there were some issues with the costumer service, and return items.

on the other hand, costumers liked the quick shipping timming, the quality of the product were great
the app is easy to use, fast ordering and viewing. it has good deals, very secure and good pricing.

while exploring decisive for traffic in IN, i can see that most impressions on the category type, goes to art & entertainment with 400 milion mpressions.
next to come is hobbies & interests with little more than 200 milion impressions. and than business with 70 milion.

apps has 100 milion more impressions than sites. and the android 4.4.2 is winner with 163 milion impressions out of all os versions. along with that android kicks ios by far in IN with 520 milion impressions.
best carriers are bharti airtel, idea and vodafone with 100+ milion impressions. wifi has 196 mil impressions. maharshatra is the beast with 158 mil impressions.

I have made banners, and uploaded 8 campaigns toatl. 4 from yeahmobi and 4 more from mobco to test them both aff networks.
up till now they've reached 7.5$ each. only three campaigns out of eight had 1 conversion. so it's not promising so much but im keeping them till they reach 15$ spend. i also blacklisted few apps and sites that were spending 3times my payout with now conversions.

In the mean time im making new adds for the second angle in case this one doesnt work. And in addition i looking for new offers.

best of luck!

05-08-2015 10:48 AM #5 ranboussidan (Member)

OK That's it i want to start fresh so from now on i will be as detailed as i can be + uploading banners states and every damn thing i can.

So i stopped all Flipkart campaigns, it was capped and i didn't get anywere.

I checked the top offer's list from yeahmobi, and found "news hunt".

Traffic source - Decisive
payout - 0.4$ no cap
geo- IN, AE, SA, KW, QA , QM I will start with IN.

I went to the offer page - google play and started thinking about angles. I just can't stop thinking about that old man sold potato pealer - RIP. So what i did, i sat my ass down took a piece of paper and started telling myself repeatedly - "your not selling a news app". "im selling....." also i looked at the life force 8 hanged right infront of my eyes, and tried to find one of the forces in every angel i found.
So here are the angles i came up with so far:

- im selling - being updated - social approval, care and protecion of loved ones
- im selling - inreach yourself - social approval, enjoyment, superior, sexual companionship
- im selling favorite authors - enjoyment, life extension, social approval, sexual companionship
- im selling prestigue look - social approval, sexual companionship
- im selling being smarter than others - superior, social approval, sexual companionship
- im selling aducation the pulm of your hand - being superior, social, sexual, life extension
- im selling culture - enjoyment, social approval
- im selling topics to talk with other people and a way to connect with other people - socail approval.sexual comaionship
- im selling a way to look knowledgable - social approval, sexual companionship.
- im selling innovation with colturism - enjoyment life extension

Now I will choose 2 angles -
1 - im selling topics to talk woth others and a way to connect
2 - being smarter than others

Ok next, i will enter photoshop and make 8 banners for each angle. once im finished i will upload them here for feedback.

Can you hear that?....that's the sound of a milionnaire.

TALK TO YOU SOON!

Hey buddy,

Looks like you’re working very hard! Keep it up!

I’m a little confused by some of your angle creation process, but am looking forward to seeing the banners you come up with!

I also recommend doing some spying when trying out a new offer - see how people are already selling the offer.

05-10-2015 07:12 PM #7 Ruby Tunes ()

I had never heard of News Hunt before, but can I say that I was a little confused as to why you’re telling people to “read books” and sending them to (what I thought) was a news app. Have you looked at the offer page and whether it’s talking about their ebooks or about the news?

Do you have a landing page or direct linking?

To be honest the whole telling me to read a book thing didn’t really do it for me - I felt like “uuuhhh if I want to read a book I will go to the library, but thanks for reminding me”. Basically, it didn’t make me want to click.

Maybe think about some other successful angles that you’ve seen around. Think of the “(1) weird trick” ads you must have seen everywhere or the "(1) new message".

How about things like...
“(1) weird trick to get smarter | Click here”.
“(1) New Message. Subject: Breaking news | Open"

Really make people think they’re missing out if they don’t click.

I like how you’re being very creative and am interested to see how your banners perform. Keep it up!

Thanks a lot Ruby for your comment!

News hunt is a news app and an ebook store that can be downloaded from google play. i went over the reviews and it has a lot of great reviews. It is true though that the News side of it apprantly stronger, but I still wanted to check out the ebook side of it. I agree with you about the "read books", it is not that tempting at all + now after you said it, it is like a reminder. What did you think about other angles?

Also i started with airpush while back, and i moved to decisive just becouse of the Appetiser. Do you think i should continue with airpush? or just stick to the appetiser?
The campaign is live let's see what happens there, in the mean time i will make some banners for the angles you pointed out. Thanks!

To your question im direct linking as according to the appetiser. trying to go by the book.

Thanks again Ruby!

Tried uploading txt ad's with the " message" & "Weird trick".. didnt get approval.
Im thinking of ways making it happen.

In the mean time im waiting for states for the first angle, and loaded the second angle.

05-13-2015 01:11 PM #9 Ruby Tunes ()

Yeah I think you should choose one source and stick to it, learn it inside out.

The suggestions I made were purely off the top of my head and wasn’t intended really for use - I was trying to illustrate the difference between a banner someone might see and ignore vs a banner that someone might see and have an urge to click on.

CTRs depend on the traffic source etc. On Decisive a while back I had banners running at 1-2% and were very profitable.

05-18-2015 07:31 AM #10 ranboussidan (Member)

Hi again!

So yesterday i was looking for new campaigns, i got up 6 am (half and hour before the usual).

I found on MATOMY the offer 'sam media'. same old sam media..any way sam media offering few campaigns such as fingerprint, phone finder, line app, antivirus wifi booster and more.

so the payout is 1.54$, bit high from the usual but i went for it. so i chose wifi booster for starter, i researched the country - JO, went to wikipedia to decisive and buzzcity planner and wrote all down. i wrote thing s like biggest carrier, connection type, os & osv, brands etc.
Now i was thinking of angles. of course all the "boost your wifi by 200%" bull, came up but i had to go deeper.

after a while banging my head to the wall, i remembered talking to my mom the other day, about how pepsi advertised on the begining. well she told me that the it took a while for them to rise until they went to Michael Jeckson, who didnt even believe in the product and didnt even agree to hold the can. anyway to make a long story short, after they took him for commercials, they were like sky rocket.

So why am i telling all this? this is a f__ing great angle!

So i went to wikipedia again and looked for famouse singers in JO. well I found some.
I opened my PS and strted working on banners. Well they are in arab so you wont be able to understand much, not that i do, but google translate is a great friend when needed.
So the ad text went like:
Download "Diana Karazon's" music faster than ever.
like samir al baghdadi?download the best from samir twice as faster
downloading hani mitwazi's song taking too long? download it faster now.

ETC.

well i also checked to offer speed page and the way it look on few brands and it was ok. page load speed was little slow something like 1.5S but there is nothing i can really do with it since im direct linking.

any way i sent it all to approval - the banners to the aff network and the translation and LP to the traffic source.
Now that was pretty long ha...all this took me few hours..like 4. after waiting for approval i recieved an email disapproving the LP. Now that sucks.
after replying and forwarding with no change, and since it is the offer page which i can not touch, i decided that im waisting my time and i should look for new campaign.

from the same "sam media" i took phone finder. i went through the procces again, thought of angles and all and came up with some thing like -
90% chance you will not find your mobile phone after losing it. with mobile finder 90% chance you will.
hungry but can not find your phone? click here
miss your friends but cant find your phone?
ETC.

I set up everything and launched the campaign. of course they disaproved one banner again but the campaign is on and running.
it took a while until the approved it and when i saw that they disapproved one banner i didnt want to waist time again and decided to look for another campaign just incase. well i have found it - OLX IN from other network.
So i went through the same all process again, i took some banners from paytm from the time it was working well made some changes and launched the campaign. in the mean time the approved after few hours the phone finder.

in the end of the day, i was pretty damn satisfied, why? couse i showed my self that i shouldnt give up, and that i can make at least 3 different campaigns from near to scratch. that's not easy at all.
For now im waiting for data so....talk to you soon!

Looking over those banners, my initial thought on the first one was "updates for what?". If I saw that banner, I think I'd be wondering if it was talking about software updates. You might do better to say "news updates" specifically.

Likewise, on the fourth banner, you might want to say "when you can get the news for free" rather than "get it for free". It's just slightly clearer.

Other than that, though, they look good - looking forward to seeing your latest results!

Hey buddy,

I really admire your enthusiasm and your hustle. And I'm sorry to hear about your hard times. You were wise to get some fresh air for a bit, it can be very hard when you're not seeing results.

I wouldn't increase your testing budget. With low payout offers you're going to get an indication if it works, if it doesn't you need to try something else.

For your landers - I like the way you're trying to make them very professional and genuine - they're very good for the brand because they're totally honest. I have to say though that they don't really look like something that could make much money.
I feel like maybe the main problem with them is the fact that there is a lot of text on the page and it ends up looking like terms and conditions - which can scare people off a bit. You don't need to be helping people with the support aspect of the app - that's their job. Your job is to sell it - push the FREE side of it etc, not the problems side of it.

06-01-2015 01:20 PM #15 Ruby Tunes ()

To be honest, if I was you, I would really go back to basics.

I would read Cashvertising if you haven't already. I would buy a HMA pro account and spend a long time on a mobile emulator spying and spying. See what other people are doing and think about why it works.

Thanks a lot for being honest, it's very important to me!
Just to make sure, spying is in term of offer selection and the ad copy selection?

And i just recoeved yesterday my copy of cashvertising

06-02-2015 08:18 AM #17 Ruby Tunes ()

Nice, get reading on that

Spying can be for everything. Find the places that your sources are running ads. Look at the ads and consider their style, their copy etc. Then click on them and look at their landers, again consider their style, elements of them that make them work, their copy etc. Then click through to the offer and take not of what kind of offers are being run.

A few days spying and you will learn a lot. Notice the trends that are common amongst a lot of landing pages and compare them to your own so far.

I noticed that i didn't interduce myself in this follow-along, and it's a shame!

So im Ran, 25yo From Israel. got familiar to AM Almost 2 years ago. About a year ago i started some mentoring program in AM which now i understand was all one big mistake which took me a lot of money and time. mostly time. I started all wrong. and now i really know it. I spent over than 3000$ till now on campaigns and a lot other stuff including mentoring and shit.

But the past is past and im greatful for being an STM member and learning a lot! So Im 100% affiliate for 2 monthes now with no profitable campaign yet bet still hustling!
Just finished reading Kepe95 follow-along for the first time. The road he went through is just amaizing and a lot of things to implement in my unique way.

I realized that i made one huge mistake all this time - I WASNT SPYING AT ALL. I just skipped this one. So I Stopped everything i ran till now and thank to some of you guys Im making few stratigic changes in my play.

First Im gonna sit n' spy for like whole 2 days. just watch things try to better understand what i did wrong, what offer are killing it and try to understand funnels better. I scheduled a skype chat with a WRW rep for today to make thing simpler.
Second, I need to finish reading cashvertising hopefuly by today or tomorrow.

Now I need to set my self milestones - I've already made a conversion and made it to a profitable campaign for 1 day. then it just flushed down the toilet.
So I think maybe my next goal is to reach 1$ steady for at least a week, profit campaign.

Also i made stratigic decision that i should have made a long time ago and is to remove all unknown factors. One BIG ASS unknown factor is Airpush ads so i decicided to leave Airpush since i cant spy on their ads. I signed to Go2mobi and inmobi, plus im already signed to like a dozen of other traffic sources each on thier field.

As part of my strategic change i also need to discover my Strengths and weaknesess.
Strengths:
I can make pretty good banners within short period of time.
I have enough money to continue for at least till august.
I still live with my parents so i save a lot of expenses.
I work 13 hours a day 6 days a week. I have to have my day off to refresh.
I have a strong self - discipline and order.
I love what i do although i keep losing money.

weaknesses:
I dont have money forever - which also be a strength - kicking you out of comfort zone.
english is not my native so google translate is a great friend but it still takes a lot of precious time.
Im a student and im facing an exam periode this month, so i'll try to manage this the best that i can.
Israel is pretty Damn expensive! along With the fact that i live with my parents.
Taxaion here are pretty killing.

So for conclusion the next 2 steps are these:
1. talk to WRW rep - start spying for 2 whole days.
2. finish cashvertising.

more updates soon!

See you guys!

Ran

It's nice to have a bit more of a background on you - thanks for sharing!

I think the changes you're making will be very beneficial. Especially the spying and learning through that. I guess you were kind of running blind before by not seeing any affiliate ads and not knowing the style used etc.

I'm also a fan of manual spying (using a VPN like HMA), as you'll really see the whole process (from the site to the ad to the lander to the offer). Sometimes spy tools can be deceiving because people hide their landers and can be a bit sneaky.

I think that's a good goal you've set. Looking forward to seeing you back when you've done some serious research and have a better insight into what works

Hi @ranboussidan,

I really admired your spirit and determination. I happened to look at this thread when i do a search for batter saver in STM.

I read through the whole thread and at times, i can feel how you felt exactly

Hope you are doing fine with your spying. There is a post by iamattilias on how to spy using WRW. But you will still miss out the most updated banner that the rest are doing. So i do agree with 'Ruby Tunes' that manual spying is still the best. Remember to use appannie as well for your research (a must for researching).

Hope you will achieve profitable campaign asap! Do hit me up in skype (PM me) if you ever need someone to talk to or discuss. (i wont be a big help but 2 brains works better than one )

06-28-2015 08:09 AM #21 ranboussidan (Member)

Hi Socceralien, thanks for your feedback and insights! It is very important to me! I will PM you soon!

------------------------------------------------------

It has been pretty long time since I updated here. It has been a crazy last 3 weeks, learning wise.

So first I read a lot about spying. Also iamattila's spying guide, and some more excellent guides. I signed up with WRW and sat for like 4 whole days and just looked on the flows and banners that are there for long time and looked for offers that works, and their landings. I also worked a bit with HMA but I find it quite not affective, it takes quite a long time to get an idea of what’s going on. I’m trying to think on a better way. Also I had a Visa issue that held me back for a week and half of testing, so in the meantime I looked for offers, also got to know a lot better appannie and similarweb that helps a lot!

Furthermore, I felt I needed to better understand how this whole thing works in terms of the big players - the exchanges-->DSP's SSP's and the advertisers, so I sat for 2 whole days to research everything I can and to better understand the flow, so I would eliminate unknown factors in the way as part of my goal. Well I learn tons of information and knowledge as well as that there are factors that are unknown and you just have to deal with that and adjust yourself along the way.

I also took the time to review my campaigns so far since I started, even before STM, and noticed that I had 2 very potential campaigns, I just didn’t know how to scale them. I had a campaign that one placement was green right on the start, and I just didn’t split tested it, I only tried to optimize and almost got to break even and even one day of profit but with very very low volume. I made several new campaigns to try and see what will happen to the volume but not much happened, so after couple of days i just killed it and moved on. The conclusion is that I didn’t know what I know now.

I also signed up with sitescout, go2mobi and inmobi. I actually didn’t quite understand where i can find the postback for inmobi so I can link it with Voluum.

Right now I’m working with decisive and go2mobi, testing waters of offers trying to get some conversions. As for sitescout i think it’s a scalable traffic source so i would not work with it unless i want to scale.

I have a good gut feeling about the next days. i learned a lot during the last few weeks and i feel more confident to approach offers and make campaigns.

After looking for offers to run I’ve returned to UCbrowser, plus I got a good deal from the network. I applied for this offer in few networks and asked for some info about the best geo's and the traffic that gets the most conversion. i crossed the data i gathered, and found out that ID is working the best probably, and that social traffic works best but also display has some good stats. Since I’m not running social, i went on the display. i made few new banners with the speed angle. i ran one campaign on decisive for 15$ in ID. No conversion at all killing bad placements along the way. i launched another campaign in India targeting only carriers and states which I know are working for apps from previous campaigns and it was rejected. Now regarding that, i PM'd the rep of decisive trying to optimize this flow. Campaigns are being rejected due to unreachable lander, and of course they will, it is geo targeted. With Airpush for instance, the moment i launched the campaign, i sent the LP for approval to the creative support team. Now does decisive has such thing? That would really make my life and other's, i believe, much easier.

I also launched a campaign on go2mobi trying to better understand the traffic source since i recognized a few advantages it has over decisive. So far no conversions at 6$ spend.

I also got back to writing every little thing that I’m doing on a word document called active casestudy. it's great! i can just see every step that i took, actions i need to take next, questions i had and answered or needs to be answered. Although I’m not profitable, i am making a huge progress towards profit. looking at the casestudy i made, got me to feel a lot more secure about myself and continuing and not giving up.

Another thing that crossed my mind is that this industry is too publisher focused and not customer focused. Now google, as i understood from researching a lot, is all about her customers and that is why they are so harsh on advertisers. They understand that without their customers, they will not have publishers, nor advertiser, and no profits. So first thing on their mind is to get their customers happy. Same for facebook by the way.

Now the big question mark here is - WHAT CAN BE DONE ON THE ADVERTISER SIDE TO BE MORE CUSTOMER FOCUSED? because that is where this industry goes In my humble opinion. This question will be in my mind until i will come with a solution and maybe the next big thing.

Next up:

- optimize go2mobi campaign.
- look for another offer to run.
- get an answer from decisive regarding this creative approval issue.
- continue summerizing cashvertising

my next big goal as i wrote earlier - get a 1$ stable profit for couple of days

Until next time

Hey Guys,

Today was a bit rough. after sitting the whole day, yesterday, and this morning on building a campaign, the affiliate network took it off. furthermore the go2mobi campaign was spending money like hell. if i thought that airpush was expensive, i just discovered that go2mobi can be a killer too. i immidiatly killed all the bad placements, although there was not a lot to kill, the campaign had spend over 10$ with just 100 clicks, So i started looking for other offers on several networks and could not find a good looking offer that fits my needs. that really cracked me down for couple of hours. i kinda lost my faith a little today and a "is it even possible" thought even crossed my mind.

after pulling myself together, i thought maybe i should change strategy, maybe im putting too much effort in spying and building banners and all too soon. I decided that maybe, just maybe i should just "throw shit against the wall" and see what sticks. minimize spying, not making any banners at first, use only the advertisers for the test run and try to make the whole work flow much much faster. i'de figure that if i'll continue spying for few hours, building angles and banners for the rest of the day and thanthe offers would just disappear i will loose a lot more time and money.

later the day, I launched 3 more campaigns - one adult, two games offers, every campaign on different traffic source and different Geo.

So alln'all i have 4 campaigns running at the moment. 1 from before - the uc campaign. 2 new that got approved already and running and one thats waiting for approval.

one of the campaigns started good, 1500+ wins 53 clicks, 3.5 % CTR , 86% win rate. no coversion yet.
So now basically i just wait for stats to come. i have few more game offers that i thought testing. just keep testing until something will bring some conversion. after that start making changes.

next up mission:
- kill bad placements on those 4 campaigns.
- continue testing offer until i get somewher.

I would love to get some ideas some direction from the big players. i kinda lost direction.i find it relly hard to find utility app download. that's why i decided to try game downloads. i would love to get some tips about how to optimize my work flow, even on PM.

Thanks a lot guys i'd appreciate your help a lot!

After making a lot of reading and thinking and thinking again, i've come to several conclusions:

- im dropping app installs vertical.
- Going for 2 other verticals.
- I will continue with display and will add pop ads to my list of main traffic sources.
- learn everything that I can as fast as I can about pop ads and the 2 new verticals.
- try to build a primary work flow for the new vertical and traffic sources and optimize it on the go.
- initiate a mastermind group.
- test offers until I get some results.

That's it for now.

Hey all!

Well, i gathered my self and started working again after having few down side days. I built a work flow that i will start working according to which i published in deferent thread. I also realized that Spying tools are not as good as they were before. Affiliates and marketers are doing great job hiding their pages, and regulation is getting stronger. I still think it is possible to get to XXX$/day income but making XX,XXX$/day you need something really special. well im not even at the XX$ /day so i'll worry about the XXX$/day later.

One thing im finding really hard is making things fast. i just cant figure out how solo marketers launching 3-4-5 offers a day, cause finding an offer takes time, spying, thinking of angles and building pages takes even more time. So im just throwing shit at the wall from the top offers list i get from my AM, with the advertisers offer pages and creatives to see what works even for few conversions. i think that will save some time digging every offer. after i'll get few conversions i will make angles and landers and all.

Affiliate marketing is not what it used to be. After reading the great thread of caurman - 2015 trends, I realized that working solo is not going to work any more, well it might work but its going to take lot more time and money that i dont have right now. I also realized that i have to have some sort of income cause my money is running out, and its getting tough to think straight when your on a tight budget, so i might look for a side job something to make a living and revive the business.

Right now my strategy is to find a side job that will give me some breathing air, while throwing shit at the wall see what sticks and try to work with it optimizing my work flow on the go and buying as much data as i can till i run out budget. in addition make connection and try to work with other affiliates that i can benefit to and from.

I really like Kepe95 mind set of Fake it untill you make it cause it works in some way on your mind and really get you to making it.

On a lower level, i launched 2 campaigns of a battery saver offer. I ripped 2 LP's made some tweaks to it and loaded them. they both got to 20$ spend no conversion, so i killed them.
Now i tested one app install offer that came back to live after quite some time. launched it in Display see what will happen. furthermore, launched 2 more campaigns for a sweepstake offer. i direct linked it to the offer page just for testing. it seems that throwing shit at the wall with the advertiser offer page works fast. the question is, if it works?..

I'de love to get some ideas about spying. Mobile ad scout is getting weak to my opinion. lots of 404 pages. Still didnt figure how to find pages on HMA besides pages that are linked to banners. and WRW is also little out dated and not fitting to my vertical and kind of traffic. So im kinda stuck spying wise. i still use adscout but not for long.

Goal: $XX/day stable(Indicatore for a good workflow)

Cheers!

Well testing made me feel a lot better than I felt when not testing, leave the money lose a side. I just feel better. Doing something, moving, progressing.
I tested few Pin submit, SOI's and sweeps, the thing is that i did it little differently. i had to shorten little bit the "water testing" period somehow, and make the flow more efficient, so i just launched a pop, direct linked offer page campaigns. no banners no landers. The user is getting straight to the advertiser's page. That was a risk, but a risk i was willing to take. And i did find something. After one day of spending, it got to -59% ROI, without me even touching it. What i did, i built 2 landers, 8 banners, and i launched 4 campaigns on display traffic - 2 DL with only banners to the offer page - the old school display campaigns, and 2 banners--> landers-->offer page, campaigns. I launched 2 each, targeting wifi and mobile separately.

On a pop traffic source (after registering to 5 more pop traffic's) i launched one more broad campaign and I’m trying to figure out how to target more than just placements. (could be great to hear some protip about that on PM).

Now I’m waiting for the campaigns approval, and traffic to come. Will update ASAP.

The app install i launched, gets very little traffic on one traffic source, and with no cr, so i launched it on another traffic source. it got approved but no traffic is coming for 2 days. i PM my rep about this. i launched it with an angle that worked for me before. furthermore i lunched 2 more campaigns for 2 more app install offers, with the same angle that worked for the 1st ap install. both of them got to 20$ spend and no conversion.

BTW, still thinking about finding a side job although this option is the worst thing to my AM career, I will probably have to stop AM for some perioud. just thinking of it made me more hungry for testing and getting results. the thought i have not a lot of time till my budget runns out, gets me to work harder than before, getting you out of the comfort zone.

Goal: $XX/day stable(Indicatore for a good workflow)

Happy day everyone!

Good morning and great week!

I have some issue that i must ask zeropark users, until the rep will get back to me with an aswer.
Can i target carrier and cities with zeropark? i just cant seem to find it...maybe it doesnt exist? and if the answer to this is no, so does anybody know a pop traffic source that can target carriers and cities? or at least carrier?

I appreciate it a lot!

Thank you all, more updates soon!

Hey,
just read accidentally through the whole thing (thank my tablet where I never close tabs) and noticed that no one is answering since a good while (where is the good soul of this forum? I mean Amy).

i launched another campaign in India targeting only carriers and states which I know are working for apps from previous campaigns and it was rejected. Now regarding that, i PM'd the rep of decisive trying to optimize this flow. Campaigns are being rejected due to unreachable lander, and of course they will, it is geo targeted.
From Zeno Sensei I learned: You need a "passthrough offer" for that. Means in Voluum you have to create an offer which simply links to the Play Store and as redirect rule you have to set that everyone outside the targeted country gets redirected straight to this offer to overcome the geo targeting from the affiliate network.

Well.. best way would be to get rid of affiliate marketers. The hard restrictions came mostly because of too aggressive advertising, as far as I know. Like "You have 923874,7 viruses. Install this app or your balls will fall off".

furthermore the go2mobi campaign was spending money like hell. if i thought that airpush was expensive, i just discovered that go2mobi can be a killer too. i immidiatly killed all the bad placements, although there was not a lot to kill, the campaign had spend over 10$ with just 100 clicks,
You should have posted some screenshots from Voluum. You had either a very bad CTR or damn expensive CPMs.

Also please consider that you have to reach specific CTRs & CRs & CPMs to be profitable. $10 for 100 clicks? Even with 100% CR this wouldn't be profitable. To get a better overview you could create an spreadsheet where you can see which ROI you would reach with specific CTRs & CRs & CPMs. My vocabulary doesn't suffice to explain this in English (not even in German ), but I'll try it anyway:
1. Create a table and put in the x-axis (the columns) a range of CTR values (like 0,5%, 0,75%, 1,0%, etc. till 2,5%)
2. In the negative y-axis (the rows) put a range of CRs (like 1%, 1,5%, etc. till 8%)
3. Somewhere outside of the table you put values for CPM, Payout (And if you want to calculate the concrete earnings then also values for impressions and spendings, but you will need a separate table for that). And if you want to work with landing pages you'll need the LP CTR too.
4. In the fields in between you put the formula for ROI in and expand it to all fields (pro-tip: with conditional formatting you can make the cells red if negative, green if positive).

With that you will see which stats you need to reach to be profitable and what you need to improve. For example bad CTR can be caused by banners or placements. Bad CR can be caused by bad angles or offers or landing pages.

Also consider the following post from hlyghst (read holyghost). To be profitable with a $0,30 payout on $0,25 CPM you need some pretty bad ass stats, which you will see with RandomDude's patented ROI table.
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...N-with-100-roi

i thought maybe i should change strategy, maybe im putting too much effort in spying and building banners and all too soon. I decided that maybe, just maybe i should just "throw shit against the wall" and see what sticks. minimize spying, not making any banners at first, use only the advertisers for the test run and try to make the whole work flow much much faster.
Would advise against that. The advertiser creatives are mostly bad (e.g. an advertiser often have angles like "DU Battery Saver, Download Now" with static banners, which is not appealing. Whereas "Battery Draining Too Fast?" with some blinking elements will most likely reach better CTRs & CRs).
And for faster testing: Spying is a synonym for "stealing". You don't spy to get inspired, you spy to steal and to improve what you've found (don't tell anyone that I said that).

furthermore, launched 2 more campaigns for a sweepstake offer. i direct linked it to the offer page just for testing. it seems that throwing shit at the wall with the advertiser offer page works fast. the question is, if it works?
Well.. that could maybe work, depending on the offer and your performance stats, but:
1. While spying I found no affiliate doing direct linking ever + the everyone advises to use LPs for sweeps.
2. I actually got once a sweeps campaign profitable with direct linking (because of really hard low bidding), but then had to stop traffic, because of very bad lead quality, while using landers I had good quality. You can test direct linking, but I would only do it with a portion of your traffic (by setting different paths in your campaign in Voluum)

--------------

And some bonus of general tips:
1. When you do a follow-along, then please put some tracking screenshots, etc. in. Otherwise every advice would be a wild guess. I bet you could have save a lot of money doing that and would have received more answers.
2. Post your daily campaign stats (Earnings, Spendings, CPMs, CTRs, etc.) and put a colour on them. An easy eye-catcher to make a follow-along sexier.
3. Speaking of wild guesses: I think you did too much offer hopping. It seems you just threw $15 at an offer and decided if it's good or not. What about angles, banners, landing pages, geos (especially for your global offers), CTRs, CRs, CPMs and so on and so on. For example you don't need $15 to see if your CTRs suck with such low payout offers. Pause the campaign, make new banners.
4. App installs seem to get harder. Even AppFlood's top offer list has not many any more.

Wowza... this took longer than expected. I wonder how Amy does such long posts... o__O
