How to track which banners are converting well?

Hey guys,

right now im currently advertising on trafficjunky, i have multiple banners and of course some do better than others. I know 2 banners that do well, because was tracking them manually. I would make one ad with only one placement and have a different url for that particular banner.

My question is when you have multiple banners and one landing page, how do you know which banners do well?

Do you have to track all banners with a tracking system like Voluum? Sorry for the noob question but im not too familiar with how tracking works.

Please help.

Thank you.

Ideally you want to make everything as simple as possible and then leverage as many dynamic elements as possible.

Example: all your ads within a campaign use the same URL - as provided by your tracking system. Your ads serve on different placements.

Rather than making different URLs, you use one, and use tokens like {creativeid} and {placement} which the traffic source will automatically convert to real values when an ad is served/clicked, allowing you to pass data to a tracking system.

In your case, you want to use a single URL and have the ID of the banner passed to your tracking system.

I'd suggest watching my video on Decisive/Voluum/F5 as the principles are universal. http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ll-Video-Guide

For TJ, I believe their new interface does support tokens - see http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...l=1#post205246

Hey Positive,

If you don't know you should check the Traffic Junky's Tokens.

Let me paste here.

Ad Name and Ad ID will provide you the data.

Make sure, Banner means the uploaded banner (which can be used in the current ad or other camp. also).

Which means Camp 1 and Camp 2 uses same banner 21344

Ad 1 of Camp 1 uses 21344
Ad 1 of Camp 2 uses 21344

So, I hope it's clear. You have to track Ad ID and Ad Name.

Go and Do It.

Tokens are your best friend with Exo/TJ.

Great time savers, and essential for optimising.
