Hosting Question - Custom Domain for Tracking (Redirect Only) (2)

Quick question to anyone that may know answer or may have tested.

I have a website hosted on a VPS that is running banner and video advertising where I'm being paid on a CPM basis. I have some new traffic sources I'm testing and was wondering the following: if I want to use a custom domain in Voluum for tracking purposes, but the custom domain is being used purely to redirect the traffic to website I own (which, as I said, is hosted on a VPS that is plenty fast), does it matter if my custom redirect domain is on a shared hosting platform or a shared platform with dedicated IP?

You would use a subdomain of your custom domain.

So if your VPS is trackingdomain.com

You could set the Voluum custom domain to track.trackingdomain.com

And it would be a completely different address.
