Funnel Flux - Tracking Revolution: Watch Me Build a Profitable Campaign With It
Hey there,
I'd like to introduce Funnel Flux to you guys. The best way to do it is to show you how I've used it live, before my subscribers eyes, to create a profitable campaign very easily.
Before showing you the videos (below), let me quickly tell you why Funnel Flux is the new best Tracking Software in the world. And since an image is worth a thousand words, let's start with this screenshot, showing a funnel built with Funnel Flux:

The image above shows a simple and fully functional funnel created in less than 10 minutes (including setting up the offer urls).
In that funnel, the traffic is first being split between 2 optin pages (incoming traffic is represented by the red circle on the top left).
Once someone optins he is redirected to the first offer wall, on which there are links to 3 offers.
There's also a link to a 2nd offer wall.
On the 2nd offer wall, there's also 3 links to 3 other offers and a link to a 3rd offer wall.
On that last offer wall, there are links to 4 offers.
To setup this kind of funnels, you just need to drop your landers/offers in the visual view and connect the nodes together.
You do NOT even need to place any script on your pages, the funnels are fully functional just by creating them visually in Funnel Flux.
Now let me tell you a few points that make Funnel Flux the best funnel builder and tracker:
- It has a visual funnel builder, so you can build multiple pages, multiple paths funnels in a few minutes
- No need to place any script on any page - exclusive technology!
- 63 KPIs automatically tracked for you in addition to your custom tokens
- Statistics module is much more powerful and flexible than all other trackers as you will see in the videos
- In addition to regular tabular stats, you also have visual heatmap stats so you can see on your visual funnel diagram, in a few seconds, where you traffic drops off - plus conversion rates heatmaps and others
- Self hosted but extremely fast (1+ million clicks per day on a $15 VPS) - also works very fast on cheap shared hosting! I'm an optimization pro having worked for some of the biggest software companies in the world.
- See instantly the lifetime value of your leads without having to setup anything at your autoresponder, and without needing to place any code anywhere! This is huge.
- Lifetime view of everything your visitors did. For example you could see that someone entered your lead capture page via Facebook, didn't optin, then came back through your retargeting campaign 3 days later, opted in, and purchased at the 4th email of your autoresponder series!
- Allows you to KNOW the conversion rates of your competitors landers, review blogs etc...
- Most powerful conditional traffic routing in the world. There's no other software allowing you to play with your traffic as easily and as precisely than Funnel Flux.
- Believe it or not, there's much much more...
I briefly mentioned the conditional rules above, here's a screenshot showing you how you can place your conditions at any place in your funnels within Funnel Flux:
You have access to all the following tests for the condition nodes (and you can group them with OR and AND conditions):
Location: Continent
Location: Country
Location: Region
Location: City

You can also place Javascript nodes and PHP nodes at any place in your funnels to execute custom code (like retargeting pixels for example).
But all I said above can't make justice to the power of Funnel Flux...
If you'd like to know more, please watch the video series below to see how I created a profitable campaign live, extremely easily thanks to this powerful tracker and funnel builder.
WARNING: I have a strong French accent!
PART 1 - Here's the Product We Will Promote and the Type of Content We Will Use
PART 2 - Setting up the Presell Funnel
PART 3 - Setting up Your Traffic Sources
PART 4 - Initial Statistics (and some money already)
PART 5 - Reporting Conversions Back to Facebook
PART 6 - How to Improve our Campaign
PART 7 - Best & Worst Advertising Channels Just Found! This one is AMAZING
IMPORTANT: The videos above have all been recorded with an old version of Funnel Flux
The UI is now completely revamped and fresher - the redirect speed is out of this world as it now
redirects faster than Voluum on a very modest 4GB, 2 CPU server!
There is a multi-user module integrated with full permissions control, so if you have some staff working for you, you can give them access to what they need and nothing else.
There's an advanced traffic filter module integrated so bots will not screw your stats.
There's a
live dashboard that shows you in realtime what's happening right now in your campaigns. Here's a screenshot (these are not real stats, just sample data):
And many more things since I recorded the original videos!
If you have not purchased Funnel Flux yet,

Looks very well thought out. What db are you using for Geo? Paid or free maxmind/neustar?

I am gonna try this too. Looks really really interesting and I love the fact it is self hosted. What about opt-in pages? Can this be tracked and displayed in the stats?

Really interesting and maybe the perfect tool for me to finally recreate John Alanis Upsell Chain.
Couple questions:
- Do you offer any discount for STM users?
- Is it possible to manually update historical traffic costs based on "total cost for a specific range" ?
- Is it possible to use the tracker and/or change elements of a funnel on a mobile device (ipad) ?

We're using maxmind geolite2. The dB can be replaced with the pro version just by replacing the file.

Optins are tracked too and the conversion rate can either be displayed for the entire campaign or broken down by traffic source, country etc.

About the discount, I was actually thinking of raising the price

There's no discount right now but with the $1 trial you can give it a test drive and see how this will improve your business for sure.
Yes it is possible to update the cost for your past traffic and you have a lot of options to restrict the cost update to exactly what you want. You can restrict by campaign, funnel, traffic source, specific tracking tokens, country, time range, time zone etc...
It's not possible to edit the funnels visually from mobiles nor tablets. But you can check your stats, create/edit your offers, update your traffic cost etc...

1. Multiple domain discounts?
2. No code to place? So is this at DNS level? Where is the connection?

Yes for several domains I can give you a discount. Send me a pm to tell me how many licences you need and we'll go from there.
There's no code to place and nothing to configure anywhere. It's all managed by funnel flux but I can't tell you how, this is an exclusive technology. It also tracks organic traffic so if someone enters your funnels without coming from one of your links he will be tracked (this is configurable).

Kudos. This is what I would call an irresistible offer. Despite the difficulties switching platforms bring with it, the features you described, it being self - hosted, as well as the 7 day trial and a very reasonable one-time price all go to make it too good to pass up.

Thanks Auditor.
I actually developed it after being frustrated by all the other trackers I've been using, even though some are great they were always missing many things I needed for my campaigns.
One thing to know is that I did develop funnel flux for my own use, so it was important to me to make it as easy to use and as powerful as possible.
I also want it to be user driven, in the customers forum there's a feature request section for this.

This looks sick, gonna test it this week!
One question though, that has been my biggest issue with other self hosted trackers : How much volume can it handle before you need to start cleaning the database? Right now using Thrive on a powerful dedicated server (32GB RAM, 16 Cores ) I have to clean every 30-40 million clicks or it starts choking and restarting mysql.
04-19-2015 02:27 PM
#14
vitavee ()
I've not had that much clicks yet but on a small server (2 Cores, 4GB RAM, SSD Drive) I've been able to handle a little bit less than 2 million clicks in 48 hours without any issue. That's on my test server where I just run traffic when I need to do some specific tests - I've not pushed it to 30+ million clicks unfortunately so I can't give you a definitive answer.

Sweet, thanks for the reply.
Can you give us some more info on the technology used to build it? I mean what db , what programming language etc.

Sure, right now it's standard PHP and MySQL with open doors to replace some modules with my own C/C++ libs. I'm an assembly programmer at heart (language machine) and C is muuuch closer to assembly than PHP. But it's faster to write a PHP program rather than a C or assembly one. With those open doors I know I'll be able to optimize further the critical parts of Funnel Flux if/when the need arises.

Hey, that's awesome! Very few people know about assembler.
I actually started on Amiga many years ago as a demo programmer. That was a great time!

1. Further to my earlier question, on how this is connected:
I understand you don't want to reveal too much about your software's inner workings, yet from the videos I see Wordpress is involved??
That scares me. WP is terribly bloated and easily becomes slow.
2. Most of my clients' campaigns are for mobile. And then on Carrier 3G traffic, which is a frail connection even in the most modern cities of the world. Same goes with 4G - it's just frail. So everything must be lightweight and superfast, as there are already enough potential points of breakdown, ie: lightweight everything.
Can you expand on this area a little more? Have you got any speed-tests or benchmarking data?
I realise requesting a benchmarking analysis may seem over-the-top for a $300 product, but the cost of having a faulty tracker is much more than the $300. I'm sure you understand.
3. Is there a feature to upload corrected cost data, either by CSV or through an API?
4. in one video you mention there is an automatic update from ClickBank. Are other platforms supported?
5. One item in the list above caught my eye: "Device: NFC". That sounds very cool, but I cant see an immediate practical use for it. Can you tell us what you envisioned when you built that in? Have you used it fro a campaign?
6. I recently had to implement the AdWords Conversion upload feature and we decided to build an API connection from iMobiTrax. The connection is between the MySQL of iMobi and the Google AdWords API. Is something similar possible with Funnel Flux, or is the code scrambled and out-of-reach?
7. Is there a problem running URL's that contain Arabic or Hebrew?
8. If there is no code involved, but it sits on the server on subdomain, can this be implemented for existing CMS'es? eg: if a client's website is built on WP, Joomla, Drupal, etc. Will it still work? Or is this for individual landers only?

No no, wordpress is not involved at all. I used it in the videos just for convenience. It also works with pure HTML. It works with anything you want, LeadPages, Click Funnels etc...

I've just run a test for you using Apache Benchmark and sending 100 concurrent requests to a direct linking funnel (linking to Bing).
The server used for this test is very modest: Only 2 cores, 4GB memory.
Result: 21.04 ms per request - which is very fast considering the server.
UPDATE: It now takes 9ms per request!
I then performed the exact same test with
Voluum, which as all of you know is a beast when it comes to speed and scalability thanks to all its cloud deployed instances.
Result: 11.33 ms per request.
As expected
Voluum wins this test, but not by a long shot. If I upgrade to a good server I can beat it easily while keeping the benefits of a self hosted solution.
UPDATE: Now Funnel Flux is FASTER on a modest server!
And honestly, being redirected in 21ms instead of 11 doesn't make any difference to the end user, he's still being redirected almost instantly.

You can edit your cost data but not with CSV or API.
Here are the options you have right now to update your traffic costs:

With the postback URL and conversion pixel virtually all modern platforms are supported.

Yes, this one is useful when you promote an app that takes advantage of the NFC chip. If the visitor's phone supports NFC and if you know your targeted group fits in the geek category, you can direct them to a lander mentioning this.

When you setup a traffic source in Funnel Flux, you can add some javascript code to be fired back whenever a conversion occurs. I guess Adwords already has a conversion script? If you place it there, your Adwords account will be automatically updated whenever a conversion occurs. For this javascript to be fired back to the traffic source you must place an iframe on your thank you page though, that's the limit of our codeless funnel setup.
If you have other specific needs, you can always do it the same way you did with iMobiTrax, by accessing the database directly. The source code itself is protected, so you can't edit it.

I've just tested this and it's working well with all the redirect options (from 301 to ultimate meta refresh which is better than double meta refresh by the way).

Yes it will still work.
The codeless tracking doesn't have any drawback compared to tracking scripts. It just makes your life easier

It forces https for the installer. I know it is better to use secure connection but it makes the whole install more complex and probably impossible for some people who have unmanaged servers and have no idea how to add selfsigned SSL.
Not sure but am I right that it will need https only for the initial install? If the https will be used after that please confirm that as selfsigned SSL is not a good idea for proper testing.

Hi Goshev,
I've installed it on 3 or 4 different servers without certificate without any issue, and some customers
have installed it on shared accounts at hostgator without SSL certificates either.
https is not required.

Strange the first install I did has redirected to https and the installed just did not want to stay on http because of some reason. I will set one more VPS and will test again.
Will create video during the install if that happens again so you may check it. I have PMed you with one more question
. I hope that is ok.

I'd love to check why this happens on your server.

I'm no sysadmin, but I have had similar https issues with other installs. Each time it was a DNS issue at origin. one time a missing redirect for www.
Just my $0.02...

I'm just done with the setup and testing the interface since yesterday.
One suggestion:
The URL that you are creating for campaigns just changes one parameter (&flux_f) to the domain. This seems to be the funnel id. There is one problem here: If someone knows my domain name where I have hosted FUNNELFLUX then he can browse thru all campaigns that I'm currently running by simply changing the numbers passed to the parameter (flux_f). I'm sure this is not something that everyone would like to happen.
A suggestion is to append one more parameter with a random hash code in addition to this sequential number. e.g., &flux_f=4&key=gfftyHJGUHKJsewry. Every time one creates a campaign, the key parameter will generate a random value and store it. This will make it very difficult for anybody to do any guesswork to access other campaigns a domain is running even if one has found one link.
THX @ mobexpert for the info from the Thrive-thread

Great suggestion.
I'll add this and it won't affect the already existing links (obviously) to avoid breaking current campaigns.
Can you please copy it in the feature request section of the funnel flux forum?
http://www.funnelflux.com/forums/for...ture-requests/
That way I can keep track of it.
Thanks
UPDATE: this feature has been added.

Yes, but what you call a campaign is called a funnel in FunnelFlux. Funnels are saved within campaigns.
For example, you could have a campaign called "Diabetes", and have those funnels grouped inside that campaign:
* Lead capture
* Autoresponder
* Retargeting

How can you work around tracking domain getting banned on pops? I mean, the license is for one domain? It would have to be changed out frequently to prevent issues with safebrowsing bans?

Eventhough the license is for 1 domain (your admin panel), you can add unlimited CNAMEs for your redirects. You could have a different domain for all your campaigns if you wanted.

However, if enough people request this feature, we will add it for sure as my opinion is only that... a personal opinion

Really sorry about this. I took 3 days off and this came to happen when you re-subscribed.
Re-activating licenses is done manually on our side as we have had people abuse the trial offer in the past. When I left for this 3-day vacation I forgot to explain our support staff how to do it as this situation (someone cancelling then coming back) is not common.
Now they know

Thank you for checking out with FunnelFlux. Unfortunately, FunnelFlux doesn't have any promo or discount at the moment. Alternatively, FunnelFlux offers a 7-day money back guarantee if you think FunnelFlux is not the right tool you need. Cheers!

I'm a total newbie at this and started to use Funnel Flux few days ago.
I managed to create a funnel and drive traffic to it and i'm loving it so far.
Here's my question:
What are HIT_IDs ?
Im getting multiple hit id's for every person who visits my lander and offer.
Is that normal ?
Shouldn't every user get ONLY 1 HIT_ID number?
If not ... Then what is the name of the unique number given to every person who visits my site ?
Thanks.
PS. It's still a bit confusing to me when it comes to postback and tokens and how they're passed between networks when they have different names so if there's any tutorial or more in-depth videos for Funnel flux id really appreciate it.

Hi Nicolaos,
I think that knowledge base article will answer all your questions related to the hit id and postbacks:
