did you guys learn from any specific websites or was it a huge trial and error process?
This is affecting me launching campaings fast because I really don't know the programs really well
(i'm using GIMP)
There are really a LOT of tutorials online for this.
Also, get Photoshop if you possibly can. It's available for about $10 a month from Adobe these days.
GIMP is a really tough program to use for anything practical: its UI is hard to learn and it's nowhere near as streamlined as its competitors. In addition, because it's not used anywhere near as much as Photoshop, there are a lot less tutorials on how to use it, which makes your learning curve even steeper.
If you switch to Photoshop and spend a day or so watching tutorials on how to use it (www.reddit.com/r/photoshop has a lot of good ones listed) you'll probably find your productivity shooting up.
