running app installs on pop (34)

running app installs and pins

Hello guys!
To begin with, I want to introduce myself. If you don’t wanna read blah-blah, you can just skip to heading «FOLLOW ALONG».

I’m from Russia, now traveling in SE Asia for 4 month. My story in AM began 4 month ago when i sold my car, my small e-commerce project and decided to get into traveling and AM. I began with desktop, had little profit on running Rev Share offer for one russian online shop.

Then I found mobile marketing and last 1,5 month trying to make it work.

I was pretty lucky and my first ever mobile campaign became profitable and earned me about 400$. It was Apus launcher on Admoda (unbelievable
Of course it was clear luck.
Then I tried to scale it on different geos, but ROI was about 0%. Not bad, anyway. But i thought that it was fail Then Apus made changes in it’s rules, setting required Retention Rate and my AM recommended me to give up this offer, also my campaign died, so it was easy give up.

Then i tried to run some pin submits without any success. Finally I decided to focus on App installs, cause it requires smaller testing budget and everybody advices not to hop from vertical to vertical.

FOLLOW ALONG
Now I’m working on offer «LEO Privacy Guard», 0.30 payout, GEO Indonesia.
This offer is in network’s top 10.

Angles that I’ve tested:

  1. update required and auto redirect in 8 sec
  2. android system style alert «potential vulnerability», private info at risk
  3. antivirus-style scanner, scanning for potential vulnerabilities
  4. pop-up alert «Private info at risk" and auto redirect on offer
  5. chrome-style «security alert, private info at risk»

All of them are performing rather bad, with top ROI -50%.

Now I’m collecting some data to cut placements and to get statistical significance on landers actual CV, but I wonder is it worth testing? I spend about 120$ with roi -65% on this small-payout offer.
Maybe smth wrong with angles or offer? Or I should continue testing new landers until I get some positive ROI or clear evidence that I can’t make this offer work?

Hope for some advices! Thank you in advance.

So, I’m here again.
It were days of testing-testing-testing.
Good decision was to give up this offer and choose another one. Same with Geo.
And it worked!
For sure, it’s not that you should give up with offer once it doesn’t work from the start, but you should really believe that:
1. traffic is good; 2. offer is working
If you are not sure about 2 of 2 points - I figured out that best decision is to change something - offer, traffic or both.

Anyway, I found my second working campaign. I missed you, honey! Yesterday was my first 180$ profit day.
I made stupid mistake, without it profit may be even bigger. I left campaign for the night, and offer was overcapped. Traffic was redirected to another offer, but it was converting with -50% ROI.
What to do with these situations? Any automatic solution?

Now I’m a-b testing landers, translating and scaling to another geos.

Nice work on the profits.

Is the offer exclusive on the network? Simple answer would be to split the traffic 50/50 with another network but if you can't then start scoping out similar stuff across all the networks you're on to see if you can find a similar enough offer that will still go net positive.

04-18-2015 01:25 PM #4 MrHardwork (Member)

Question was how to make this automatically. Because I don't use to check mail every 10 minutes.

I made simple solution, based on IFTTT. It doesn't stop campaigns automatically, nor auto redirect, but it notifies via SMS & push.

But that doesn't solve sleeping problem. PROs, whats your recipe?

As dusklife recommended, just split it within 2-3 networks.
If you have a cap of 500 (for example) on each, you'll be able to move 1,500 conversions per day instead.

Unless, of course, it's exclusive. Have you talked to your manager to check the quality and see if they can raise your cap?

04-18-2015 03:57 PM #6 MrHardwork (Member)

It's exclusive and i started to work with it only on Friday, manager is on holidays.

Cap is not mine, it's overall for offer.

Does your traffic source let you daypart? You could look at your data and figure out what time the offer is likely to cap and only run it up until that hour daily.

04-19-2015 06:31 AM #8 MrHardwork (Member)

Damn, I made it! I will write howto today. It's pretty easy, I wonder why no one wrote about it before.
Now if my server is down or offer is overcapped my traffic is automatically stopping. No more sitting over tracker like a broody over nest.

Btw, yesterday I made 400$ in profit, I'm running out of my bankroll now... Today is going to be low-XXXX$ in revenue. And then I have no money) Amazing... Hope everything will be ok with payouts and so on.

thank you

04-19-2015 02:11 PM #13 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Congrats on the success, now scale that some more!

04-20-2015 01:44 PM #14 Mr Green (Administrator)

Lol 5 days, and you're already $xxx/day profitable. That is some serious follow along campaign speed!

Congrats man!

04-20-2015 01:45 PM #15 Ruby Tunes ()

Wow dude, this instant success makes it look too easy and is super inspirational!

Keep pushing!

04-20-2015 05:28 PM #16 MrHardwork (Member)

Yeah, it may look little bit easy without telling about background of all this.

I went to Vietnam, booked hotel for one month with one goal - make mobile AM work.
My everyday schedule was rather simple:
6.30 wake up, morning run (4-7km).
This was to keep the mind clean.
9:00 breakfast, then working for 9-12 hours with lunch breaks

Everyday. With maybe 4 weekends in whole month. So this follow along is just the top of an iceberg.
Don't want anybody to think that it is easy, because it isn't. Also it is just the beginning.

I made 800$ in profit yesterday and you know what is the difference between me starting this follow along while losing money for about last 2 weeks and me now? No difference! Nothing at all. No new knowledge, no inside secrets. Just good offer + good traffic source.

If you red main topics at this forum, you already know everything you need to stack that money! So just keep trying

Great story! Would love to hear more as you move on. Keep us posted!

You sir, are the man. Will be hassling you for the full story in a success story post very soon!

Keep doubling those numbers!

Wow, what a great post

You just saved me some serious $$$ as I've been promoting the exact same offer with 0 conversions. Time to move away from that I think!

04-29-2015 12:27 PM #20 akbarvron (Member)

That's a crazy fast progress. Great job mate

04-29-2015 12:51 PM #21 epicskillz (Senior Member)

Wow is there an award for "Fastest Follow Along to go from 0 - 4 figures"?

Lol good job man!

04-29-2015 07:52 PM #22 MrHardwork (Member)

Haha, thanks guys!
Unfortunately, offer is paused, so it’s time to sum up everything.

As for numbers, I made $12k revenue in these two weeks with 100% ROI.

One problem that I faced was lack of bankroll - I emptied two credit cards, all my cash and even my girlfriend’s cash. It really stopped me from scaling more and discovering new traffic sources.

Another bottle neck is that in app installs vertical really is no question where to buy traffic - but there is problem what to promote. So for now I have no offer to replace paused one. I’m searching for some, but not sure yet. If you know networks with fresh Android utilities - pm me plz!

Also I faced technical issues -- good server located not far from your GEO _really_ matters. Finally I switched to Voluum and I'm happy with that decision.

So, the next goal is at least to repeat and at most to triple that success with pin-submit and email submit verticals.

Nice work man! A prime example of how you need to milk campaigns while you can.

Will be watching for you to replicate your success!

Also hanging out for the full story at some stage

You can triple that success with pin-submits in 5 days or even less, at least I know people that can do so А так удачи тебе, крутой блог!

Reminds me of how I started with no money. Just keep working and reinvest all your profit into the business. Work on proven offers and your "good traffic sources". $1k/day is near and in 3 months time you will not have the bank roll issue anymore!

Good job mate!

Nice congrats on the success!
Hit me up if you stop by in Chiang Mai, Thailand during your SE Asia trip

Hi great story man, do you still use the admoda as your traffic source for that profit?

06-05-2015 07:36 PM #28 MrHardwork (Member)

Wow, it’s almost 1 month passed since the last post.
I remember when I started 2 months ago the main thing that scared me was if I run out of bankroll before I manage to find profitable campaign. I had just $1k in cash and about $2k on credit card. It was nothing more than a leap of faith.

Thanks universe, I had found it before money ran out.

Last month I learned some new traffic sources, tried new vertical (sweepstakes) and worked on old cpi campaigns.
Sweepstakes seems waaay harder than CPI. Had tested tens of lps, tens of offers. Had spent about $7k with $7k revenue. It feels like I’m close. Thanks @hlyghst for his topics, they were really helpful.

This Monday I hired assistant as the beginning of building outsourcing army. He is fan of excel, so he makes daily, monthly reports. Also I’m teaching him to make minor changes to LP, next step - setting up campaigns in tracker and maybe on traffic sources. Thanks @kepe95 for his posts, they were also very helpful.

Talking about numbers, last month was mid $xx.xxx in revenue. Profit was ok also :)
So if someone (especially beginners) think that small cpi offers are hard to make money on - you are wrong. It’s really the best option to start with in AM on low budget.

As for now, my cpi campaigns almost died and I don’t really want to work on them anymore - it’s all about focus, and now I’m focusing on sweeps.

So last couple of days were loosing days, or zero days. And you know, I’m feeling ok about that. Really, my fear was to run out of bankroll, not to loose money. Now I have pretty solid bankroll to work with, a credit line on one traffic source and 3 credit cards. So it's enough I think to find new winning campaign.

Last week I was sitting in a cafe in Istanbul and I felt an incredible freedom. Awareness that you could live anywhere and work with just a laptop – that is what I was dreaming about when I sold everything and made my leap of faith 7 months ago.

Stay tuned :)

Love it man, keep going, nailing those sweeps will be harder than CPI – but sweeps tends to be generally more profitable as well (in terms of pure ROI) once you create/find the winning combo. Keep on hustlin'

06-11-2015 07:46 AM #30 satori (Member)

Congratz mate, definitely a good idea to fully focus on sweeps allthough it's harder. Keep hustlin'

Spammer.

What's going on with this place man. No one seems to care anymore. It's all about "bigger" things.

Like a mirror of IMgrind.

06-11-2015 12:19 PM #32 Ruby Tunes ()

Easy now dynamicsoul. I've removed the spam which was posted only a few hours ago and warned the user.

Unfortunately us mods can't read through every single post instantly :P

And the forum? We certainly do care. Some of the quality knowledge being dropped around the place lately has been crazy!

Anyway, back to the thread

06-11-2015 12:39 PM #33 dynamicsoul (Member)

Why easy now?

I pay my subs.. I can't have an opinion?

06-11-2015 12:43 PM #34 Ruby Tunes ()

Sorry it wasn't meant offensively - I purely meant we're doing our best

We're on your side and hate spammers as much as you and are implementing very strict policies to make sure STM stays clear of such trash
