Ok, I've gotten a new PC in my office, so I decided to use my oldest machine to install some adware to get pops from TV/LI and 50onred etc.. (or any company). Rather than use a VM.
But, I'm finding it so hard to get infected lol.
I've removed firewalls, antivirus, and security.
I've browsed and installed a load of download managers, toolbars that seems to get bad ratings on sites. Tried a lot of the ones related to 50onred, and older Trafficvance installs.
I've tried in IE, FF and Chrome..
Anyone got any links to share where I can get myself a nice infection?
Hi
Try to dowload and install vid-saver from here http://vid-saver.com/
It worked fine for me. You will be able to spy on 50onred pops
For TrafficVance have a look at gamevance.com/playsushi.com and install everything you can find
IDK if still up to date but LeadImpact used Hotbar and the Platrium Toolbar
I'll give some of these a go, but I've looked for those LI ones before with no luck.
I think they've been discontinued.
keep the links and tips coming guys. 😄
lol.. I added VM virtualbox to the old PC, tried to use some toolbars/installs I was given on that, before I infected my main machine. Mainly to try and get different networks stuff on each.
Well, my main machine managed to get infected, but not the virtualbox haha..
I guess object was acheived. But finding it difficult to get any adware to work on browsers in the VM..
Any clues?
It's not uncommon that the developers used a runtime packer with built in VM detection so the app won't start in a virtual environment.
They did it exactly for that reason: to make it complicated/not that easy for researchers(anti-viri companies) to analyze apps in virtual machines.
But most dev's don't make use of it anymore because they want to compromise as many systems as possible and a good bunch of todays production systems is running virtual.
How about contacting 50 as a "publisher" and asking for the exe to test it?......
Not sure how but I got installed a MacCoupon browser extension (probably from sport steam sites), but I did have a great time seeing some really slick landers I hadn't seen before if you haven't seen should check it out
Maynzie is talking about http://maccoupon.info but this is MAC only (dmg file)
Lookout for "BrowseSafe", that's 100% 50OnRed
