Exoclick Optimization Questions

So, as you know, I'm new to Exo, but not media buying. Their system is a bit tricky. Feel free to answer any, all, or none. Thanks in advance.

I've been running RON for a couple days, basically wide open. 4-5 campaigns, each at 100 dollars a day budget, 4-5 banners each campaign. It's going well on banners CTRs, many as high as ranges of .85 and some in the 1.55% ranges, all the way down to where I will shut them off at .16 etc.

QUESTION # 1

I'm at the point now where I am pulling out all my good sites with great CTRs and creating new campaigns to start new ones to run the gold nuggets.

Here is the problem:

1) If you copy that campaign, you have to delete by hand about 5000 sites. No fun.
2) If you start a new campaign, there is no way to find the sites that are converting well in the Premium Sites section. With only RON and Premium, it's a trap.

Question: How do you set up the new campaign to only include the 40-50 sites that are getting awesome CTRs? I can't find a way to do it.

Thanks for any answers here.

QUESTION #2

When setting up the the Mobile Carriers, It has ALL selected by default. I don't want any. All I want is DESKTOP. I don't choose anything here. I am seeing tons of WiFi traffic and some carrier level traffic. I don't want any of this. Under devices, all I am selecting is DESKTOP.

Question: Does anyone know why I am still getting mobile traffic? Super weird.

QUESTION #3

Retargeting.

I forget to set it to ENABLE/IGNORE when I started the campaign. Yah I know, I'm a dummy.

If you start the campaign, and ENABLE retargeting and Ignore, will it start to retarget any new visitors on that campaign? I don't seem to be getting any data and it was working fine on other campaigns. I guess you can't decide once you start running campaigns.

QUESTION:

Do you have to retarget from the beginning of the campaign? I assume you cannot start it midway through one.

FYI, I also emailed account reps, just thought this thread might help other EXO newbs down the road. If I got hung on it, some others might.

Thanks all!

ANSWER #1
Doesn't matter if copy or start a new campaign. Go to "6 - Advanced Settings" and enter all the domains you want to target OR block in the "Domain targeting" Section.

ANSWER #2
I have two campaigns with these settings and I don't receive any mobile traffic

Thanks for taking time to answer. Strange. I have maybe 12000 impressions on the Desktop campaign with those exact settings out of 250,000 impressions.

Thanks again. Answer 1 really helps me out.

#1 - just an addition to what dongle132 already said : if you want to target certain domain just enter "domain.com" in the advanced settings, if you want to block some domain, enter "-domain.com". You can only do this with 499 domains due to their system limitation, if you go over 500 the campaign will stop.

#2 - no system is perfect, there will always be some minor % of mobile traffic coming in, even tho you target just desktop. Lately they improved this targeting tho, so if you pick operating system like dongle suggested, it shouldnt be an issue.

Its also true they only have a limited number of sites in the premium section, so you have to target the rest via RON. Keep in mind that in RON they mix spots, so if there are 5 spots on a site, there is no way to target just NTV for example, its something to keep in mind when bidding CPM as footer have way lower CTR than NTV for example.

#2 I trie to just specify the all the options in the advanced targeting. If i select just the standard desktop browsers and the platform as desktop I don't get any mobile impressions. Maybe sometimes, but i bet that's just somebody snooping around.

I'm also running it on RON; i see that other ppl have answered you how to target them later. Does anybody know if we can maybe target the RON sites later on by Zone Id. If I'm not mistaken that should be the actual placements on the sites and a site could have multiple zones?
