As I'm a newbie, my banners come shitty, so that's why I decided to buy clicks (CPC) for testing, as it becomes cheaper. And the issue is: I have to manually sit in the front of the screen in order to quickly turn off the campaign, before it would lose a lot of money. As you guys know, the minimum exo budget is $20. That's too much for me. I want to test 10 banners (max. number allowed per campaign), and need to spend just $5-7. In other words, I want to quickly make initial tests, and spend $20 for 20 banners (the geo is shitty).
What am I doing wrong? I would really like to automate things? Probably exo is not the best source for such "initial" tests. What would you say?
If you're targeting USA for sure it's going to eat your money up. Also when you select a placement make sure to not choose one that's a home page cube cause no one will pay attention to your banners since it's the homepage people go straight for the videos.
Another thing if you want to test banners out and not spend $20 in 5 minutes go for CPM but select smart bidding at let's say 0.20 cents this will automatically smartly bid your banners for you. You will not necessarily pay 0.20 cents per 1 impressions this is just the max that you allow Exo to charge you. This will give you plenty of time to test many banners without burning your $20.
Last thing stay away from RON networks. I honestly do not know what it is but I sure do know that it doesn't convert very well so always go with their premium sites. However lately Exo have been loosing good placement ads to Traffic Junky. Over there you can buy a pack of traffic for a fixed price. This maybe better for you
Thanks for your input. But what's your real strategy in testing banners? I mean that my theory can be all wrong, and that's OK to test $20 for initial banner tests. I just want to find out how to *PROPERLY* do this with Exoclick, and low payout offers like mine ($0.20 per action).
Also: I don't how it works on the network itself. Probably buying traffic by CPC is wrong, as I would get the most shitty traffic, and it's better to buy by CPM. Please enlight me on some internals, would highly appreciate that.
if you can not afford $20 on testing, you better stay away from adult until you have a decent budget ($x.xxx). anyhow, some quick tips to exo:
1) on exoclick you can have an overspend when running ron or targeting high traffic spots. that way you can easily burn $50 or more, even if the budget is set to $20.
2) don't wonder if 50% of your budget goes to the same banner. the banners will all get the same share sooner or later. but this can take a while and could require higher budget.
3) even if you pause the campaign, the system will take it's time to stop delivering your ads. pause at $10 and you can still end up paying much more.
4) start with LOW volume premium placements. visit the sites you plan to buy traffic on and check if they have organic traffic (better quality).
