Help Needed With Prosper 202 and Adult Friend Finder Pixel Setup

Hi Guys,

I'm using prosper 202. In the 'Campaigns' setup tab I've added my affiliate url however there are options to add a sub ID. Do I need to use this if I've sent a post back url/pixel to my affiliate manager? As I understand it once the pixel has been placed it should track conversions automatically and the sub id in prosper 202 only needs to be used if the affiliate network you're working with don't allow pixel to be placed?

Also I'm not sure what type of pixel code to use, simple, smart or universal. What are the differences? There is also an option to add a sub ID on this page of the setup. Do I need to add a subid here?

Any help much appreciated!

Hey hey,

This guide should walk you through it all and answer all your questions I believe: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...FPro-or-CPVLab

If you just use a universal pixel, this will work for all offers on the network and you’ll only need to give it once as opposed to a simple one where you’ll need to place it for each offer

Thanks for your reply. Just a quick question as I'm still confused about sub ID's. Do I need them or just give the code as it is? I have an option for 'amount' which obviously need to input but what about 'sub id'?

Tracking basically works like this..

1. Your network gives you a placeholder in your affiliate link for where your subids go.
2. When adding your aff link in your tracker you fill in the empty space showing what you want to have as the content of the subid.
3. When someone clicks this link it goes to your tracker, the previously empty space is filled in with a unique value, and this is passed on to your network when the visitor goes there, as the subid number that you specified it as to start with.
4. The pixel fires from your network, with the same unique value in it - this goes back to your tracker to say “hey - this unique user converted!”.

In action it looks like this….
The link you get from your network looks something like this…. "http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxx&c=xxxxx&s1=“
The “s1=“ is where you place your first subid value. If you want more than one subid they will follow this.. e.g. “…..&s1={myfirstsubid}&s2={mysecondsubid}”
The value we are interested in passing is a unique value (to identify each visitor) - a lot of networks don’t like subid1 being unique, so we will use subid2 to pass our unique value.
When I go into my tracker (Voluum), I get a list of potential things to enter as the subid - the one I’m interested in is "{clickid}” as this is the unique value of each click.
I put this on the end of my aff link in my tracker so I have… http://f5mtrack.com/?a=xxxxxx&c=xxxxx&s1={campaign.id}&s2={clickid}
When I place my postback url on my network I tell the network which subid field the unique click is in, and enter the price of the payout for my tracker to pull.
You will find the relevant tokens to enter on the network . For me on f5 it looks like this… "http://tnzxw.voluumtrk.com/postback?cid=#s2#&payout=#price#"

I hope that made sense haha.

Thanks that really helps. I'm using prosper 202 and had a little problem configuring the script to pass onto my affiliate network but have it sorted now. Let the fun begin!
