My 1st Popup Campaign (11)

My 1st Popup Campaign

Hello STM'ers

Thought Id start a follow along campaign as I seem to be having a little trouble putting all the pieces together to get tracking and everything working between the affiliate networks and Voluum.

So Far I have chosen an offer on recommendation from my AM over at F5Media, I setup my campaign followed the guides on here to get tracking setup and loaded my account to buy some initial traffic. Ive decided to go with pops and a 1 click flow pin offer. (Probably not the best choice but I know pins from other IM endeavours)

So far the campaign stats are:

Pops: 985
Spend: $5.80
Revenue: $24.40

I think im seeing some clickloss though, because Voluum shows 867 and my affiliate network has registered 395 clicks to the offer (Im direct liniking through a placeholder page) so id expect the stats in voluum, the traffic provider and F5 to be the same or thereabouts.

Can anybody offer any advice on how to track this? - I have checked for duplicate ips etc and they are all unique.

Any advice I would really appreciate it.

Things to do next:

Optimise the balls off this campaign
Fix conversion tracking and cost tracking in voluum
Test new traffic sources and scale this up

Cheers!

Thats hell of a good start buddy, whats the payout on this offer? Would be curious how many conversions you got.

only 1 conversion so far.. probably a fluke.. but just incase its not and ive got something good i need to sort out the tracking so I can optimize the placements a bit.

there is always click loss! what you can try is, to cut out as many redirects as possible. deactivate cloaking for example. and probably link direct to the network if you can live without tracker.

Its around %40 at the moment but I want to be able to track where conversions come from so I can optimise them?

If you are not doing that yet, then just pause the campaign. You are wasting money since you are not buying any data.

Get Voluum set up, it literally takes 30 minutes until your campaign is setup.

Charles got a sweet Tutorials for beginners: http://charlesngo.com/voluum/

also if you get stuck on the way you can ask here: http://stmforum.com/forum/forumdispl...king-Campaigns

Good luck!

%40 with pops is realistic. you usually want to use a tracker of course! in case of popups it can profitbale to skip this step for better ROI. but ONLY if you can track the important variables otherwise. could be by using the conversion tracking of your traffic source or simply by sending tokens to your network.

How are you getting on with your campaigns now Delirious? That was a mighty impressive start although I understand it might be a little unnerving as it's only 1 conversion.

Did you pick a high payout offer for a reason? Everything I have read says to pick low payout offers unless your practically a god at AM

First popup campaign?
From what I heard, click loss its pretty normal but your initial result looks pretty great.

Looking forward for more updates.

I couldnt find this thread to update it and thought it was lost, sorry about that.

Alot of things have shifted in the last month, The campaign I started with this follow along I have finished it ended with $80 spend and only the 1 conversion at $24, After this I decided to do some reasearch and think a bit better about my approach.

I've been busy working in another vertical at the moment and have gotten pretty lucky, my adspend is upto around $100 per day with 80-140% ROI currently working towards my first $x,xxx day since 2011!!
