Difference between the Global Tracking Pixel and Global Postback Pixel?

What is the difference between "Simple Global Tracking Pixel" and "Simple Global Post Back URL"?
Is there any advantage one has over the other?

Great question!

I'd love to get an "in-depth" on this myself...

global means you do not need to add your tracking link whether a postback or pixel link one by one, imagine you have 50 offers to promote.

tracking pixel is a small image used for providing a feedback mechanism to your tracker that conversion happen on the cpa network side, in short, you just have a lead that kaching. image link will be generated by your tracker.
postback url is the script which triggered by the cpa network platform to provide the feedback mechanism

both also can misfire, i manually paste the subid to get accurate report. you have to live with that, not everything perfect.

Thanks, hd2010! One more question... sorry if this is a dumb one.. but what will happen if we place both? (for example in Cake offer tracking system I guess we can place both tracking options at the same time)

one will do , pixel tracking is the norm... don't bother much... is just an indicator how well your campaign perform, you still need to upload the data to get accurate date, just make sure you not running any campaigns on crap vps/server.

you take your tracking link from for your p202 or cpvlab or whatever post in the cpa network, multiple tracking links if you promote the offer using multiple traffic source.

I've spent soooo much time trying to figure out why conversions from one network won't show and another will. I know that some of it has to do with the "s" after the http in the tracking pixel. Some networks require it and some don't. Some networks want a postback url while most want/accept an pixel.

Hd2010, you said "...don't bother much...", does this mean that I should spend more time uploading reports instead of trying to figure out why every conversion from every network won't show up on automatically?

I will say this, I got so frustrated that I did take the time learn and started uploading reports. DEFINITELY WAS WORTH THE TIME INVESTED. I still have to admit though, that I enjoy seeing the stats without having to go through that. Maybe I need to just accept that this is part of "the job".

If this is correct, how often should we be uploading? At least once a week? More? as often as necessary? Every day?

Thanks

"Edit" or "Reply With Quote" doesn't appear to be working correctly, but I use CPVLab and have it set up on a vps at Beyond Hosting.

Thanks

@philips : you are right on the https requirement, different cpa network different requirement. Regarding the stat, some people just looking at their stat to gaunge the campaign performance, some upload daily and track their campaign closely

actually you can just ask your AM, they should know about the requirement to run traffic with them, no need to scratching head.

Postback URLs are typically server to server and in my experience more accurate than a tracking pixel (iframe java or img typically).

If you're doing mobile I highly recommend postback as a lot of phones dont render java iframes or images.

One tip I got about image pixels and mobile is to turn the pixel from a 1x1 to a 5x5

Other than that hd2010 is on the muniez
