Boys, I'm guessing you're curious as to how us ladies will infiltrate this male-only clique you've held so tightly in your grasp for 15+ years
And girls, you're here because you want to know the same...although if you're reading this now, you're already on the right track by being part of STM
The truth is, we are ripe with ambition, and it’s only a matter of time before more and more women begin to appear active in threads and at meetups. It’s exciting for many of us ladies, who may have discovered AM somewhat recently, and see how it can absolutely transform your life!
So why will women dominate?? Read on!

1) Emotional Brains - We have the potential to market offers in an entirely new way. Why's that? Because we are emotional thinkers! Sprinkle that with a little strategy, and we can approach audiences from fresh angles that are sometimes unseen.

2) Power in fewer - We are the UNDERDOGS, and who doesn't love to see a success story? I've found many affiliates more interested in collaborating and offering help / advice, in order to see us move in an upward direction. Thanks guys!

3) Career + Family = FemAffiliate! – AM is the perfect career for women, especially those who want to start a family and continue to make bank. Some affiliate women are even the main breadwinners in their family

4) Because we are just as good! – Even though AM feels like a foreign place for many of us girls, with the right dedication, it’s 100% possible to learn and master, just like any skill. Don’t be afraid of the tech roadblocks, or other challenges that may pop up. There is a big community to help you succeed.

5) Lastly, because we seriously need some more ladies at these affiliate meetups...
Just being cheeky, boys!
Seriously though, more and more women are joining AM and it’s exciting!
Ladies, we have a private skype group going so if you are interested in joining please PM me or Jaimmie from F5 ☺
I hope this is true. We could definitely use a better ratio at future STM meetups. haha
I'm not sure why, but after reading your arguments I don't think those are going to make any difference.
The perspectives you have could be different than those from a guy, but that doesn't mean they work better.
And I'm also not sure why you are seperating men from women.
What exactly is the reason that there aren't that much women on let's say STM?
I don't think it's because of their perspectives... right?
ooooo what are we going to do in girls club?!
If you can play to your strengths and truly understand--at an intuitive level-the psychology of your target audience, you can become incredibly successful in marketing.
Most males, LOL, think that marketing to females means just changing the colour of a product to pink.
Two books that have certainly helped me a lot in thinking about campaigns marketing to females has been
Why She Buys: The New Strategy for Reaching the World's Most Powerful Consumers

and

STM Girl Power is on the rise!
That is a welcome change. It was interesting seeing fbqueen's reaction to discovering who I really am.
I for one welcome the influx of women.

Finally, no more sausage fest during STM/ASW.
Keep it up girls!
Since we already have fbqueen, we gonna need the the following titles:
1. PopQueen
2. Princess of Mobile
3. Adword Queen
4. anything else...?
great post, once we gather a huge number of female STMers, we should have a girl STM meet up, and for every 2 chicks in that turns up for a meet up, we will allow 1 lucky MALE stm member into the event.
winning formula to the best STM meetup ever!!
If you want to understand women, so that you can market to them, follow my advice.
Imagine a man, then remove all reason and accountability.
can i be in your skype group xoxo ?
It's a quote from a Jack Nicholson movie!
I just assumed this entire thread was in jest.
Fun Idea, stm guys vs girls competition. Two products, one for men, one for women. It'd be interesting to see which group has more success with what gender!
WTF is this thread?
I don't remember seeing any thread saying
"US boys will show how much better we are than girls"
isn't it retarded?
Especially since you're in affiliate marketing (read: business!)
You want to make money or you want to tag it with BS labels?
and that's why girls won't be successful in IM!
Because you lose focus from important.
Internet marketing requires beasts willing to grind until they crack the code of success.
I never looked for a teammate based on gender or ethnicity but based on his track record, his word, character, capabilities.
Yes, true, when I see guy from India or Filipino or girl I do have my guard a bit up -- but that's only based on experience and
failure to find guys from that area to be compatible with my methods of work -- not saying there is something wrong with them,
just maybe low statistical sample or experience so far wasn't positive.
So, go girl!
Agreed- and loving this idea. I probably only have about 3-5 female affiliates who actually run offers or do some volume out of 800. Any ladies that need help hit me up!
I’ll lend a little bit of historical perspective to this thread. When I started going to direct marketing events back in 1998, the audience was mostly men. The only women who were there were either wives or “assistants” brought along by male business owners. The wives who came were there, I presume, to make sure the husband didn’t bring along his “assistant,” and had little interest in the event itself.
What would happen is, the guys would buy a lot of business building material (manuals, cassette tapes, etc.) sold from the front of the room, then go home and get in a huge fight with the wife who believed it was a stupid expenditure, and that the money was better spent on her. The products were very good (I bought and buy a lot myself), essential for business success, but the wife never understood that. That led to a lot of divorces and breakups, with the husband wanting to go into business, and the wife preferring the (false) safety of a “good job.”
When I started speaking sporadically in 2001, the “view from the front of the room” (as we called it) was not very pretty—mostly guys. But circa 2003-2005, things started to change. Guys who spoke and put on events started to joke that, “the view from the front of the room has started to improve,” meaning more and more women were attending events.
This was noticeable in direct marketing events (such as Dan Kennedy’s events), internet marketing events (such as Yanik Silver’s Underground Events), and real estate investing events (Ron LeGrand’s). In real estate investing there had always been more women present then at other events, but as time passed, you could see more and more women in the audience.
Around 2009 a funny thing started to happen. Wives would go to the events without their husband, buy a bunch of business building products, then go home and get in a huge fight with the whiny husband who wanted her to “just get a good job.” So, a lot of wives started ditching their lame brain husbands to focus on business, and today you will see a much closer ratio of men to women at the aforementioned events, although men still hold a slight majority.
What is fascinating is the types of businesses women tend to start: coaching, funnel setup and management, self development, content creation, and social media advice/management. Men are more on the product creation and copywriting side, data analysis, etc. You can find exceptions, of course, but those are the broad categories.
When I spoke at STM London, the “view from the front of the room” was like going back in time 20 years…almost all male, with a few exceptions (Jaimmie, Christina, and a few more women I don’t know).
Why? My feeling is because affiliate marketing falls into the skills men that appeal to men (data analysis, copywriting) and does not lend itself to the categories women prefer to go into (coaching, social media, consulting, etc). So while I would certainly hope more women get into the world of AM, my feeling is you won’t see as many as in other direct marketing businesses because those present business choices women prefer. The good news is there are a lot of women coming into direct marketing (“affiliate marketing” is a subset of direct marketing), they have a lot of choices, they are making ones they feel appropriate for them, and they are succeeding at them.
