I had some moderate success in affiliate marketing . However I'm too reliant on 1 or 2 offers and it backfired a few times when they get paused.
It causes my revenue to drop for 500$ turnover a day to 50$ how many offers should I aim to get working at once?
There is no magic number.
Depends on how much free time you have. If you have 2-3 offers running pretty much on autopilot I would fill the free time testing other stuff.
However, if you don't have enough time and the decision is between testing new stuff and scaling what works I would go for the second.
When you say that your promoting 1-2 offers what exactly do you mean? Are you running the same type of offers and are limited on cap? ie: your promoting auto insurance and are rotating in two separate offers. Or are you promoting two different types of offers? ie: auto insurance and dating?
Being in more then one niche will help you keep your revenue streams more consistent, however as bbrock32 said, if your limited on time then sticking to whats bringing in the money and scaling that would be the best way to go.
I think best advice is to have at least a handful of networks/advertisers that you can work with. Start an ongoing conversation with your Account Manager letting them know what your working on and what your looking for. Build some rapport with them. You dont necessarily have to be running all their offers at once, but in crunch times like what you just experienced they can/will be able to help you quickly.
Diversifying is important. I see it quite often, affiliates dropping from xxx+ rev a day to almost nothing. It is important to keep a variety of offers at hand but somethings offer availability is limited. Having multiple streams of revenue (campaigns) is more important than having multiple offers that you may not use IMO.
