This is my first Follow Along, and attempt at Affiliate Marketing and Mobile, very excited about venturing in
I followed the Appetiser model of the cookbook by using a product I got on Avazu to run on Decisive.
I started in the countries where the add buying is cheaper, I speak spanish so I started in Venezuela, Chile, Costa Rica, El Savlador, Honduras, Ecaudor where the Decisive ad planner showed all of these costing .05 or less.
I ran 7 ads (two of my original 9 were not approved)
I ran them with Decisive's Smart CPM I set my bidding at .10
and got the following stats
Total Spend $1.54
Conversions 0
ROI -100%
CTR 0.66% (850 clicks)
What I'm a bit confused about is that after setting the campaign up to spend $10 a day and starting my initial bid at $0.10. My bids were coming through at $0.02 and nothing seemed to move very fast. Over a period of a day and a half I spent all of $1.54 I raised my bids at one point up to $0.15 but it stayed the same.
Also I wonder if I created the link correctly, Avazu is only reporting 49 clicks. Is "Save My Ass" and an emulator the best way to check check a link in another country and see what mobile ads are happening there? I would to verify that my link is actually resolving to Google Play. The fact that there are no conversions makes me wonder since it's a free download. (I'm literally failing at giving something away for free)
I duplicated the campaign, upped my bid to $0.50 and changed the country to Spain and got the following stats.
CPM stayed at 0.18
CPC 0.04
total spend $3.55
conversions 0
CTR %0.48 (93 clicks)
So you definitely could have boosted the bid on Smart CPM for your first campaign.
Smart CPM doesn’t bid AT the level you set - here’s an explanation of how it works: http://help.decisive.is/knowledgebas...36399-smartcpm
When you’re talking about “Save My Ass” - I assume you’re talking about “Hide My Ass”? If so, yes that would be a good way to check your links.
It is also a good way to spy - Whatrunswhere is also a great way to spy.
