Hi guys,
Have a SEO question regarding a situation I'm in.
Around 7 years ago, i created a ecommerce site on zen-cart, which is now a dinosaur in terms of ecommerce software. Around 2-3 years ago, I decided to switch to Magento because with a simple addon it would be mobile friendly. Not long after the upgrade, i got slapped by some black and white animals and my traffic went to shit and my domain penalized.
So as a backup plan, i re-launched the zen cart store on a different domain. My logic was that i could build up traffic to the zen-cart domain while trying to get my magento store de-penalized.
Fast forward to today, my magento store is still penalized(but still brings in a few sales), and the zen-cart store is doing much better, but I received an email from google which basically said: "Fix mobile usability issues found on your website".
My thoughts are just to re-direct all mobile users to the magento store, as it is mobile friendly, but given that the domain is penalized, would that be a good or bad move?
Appreciate any input on this!
I think what you have to do is either:
1. Make a mobile site like m.yourzencartsite.com then re-direct mobile traffic to it
or
2. Make yourzencartsite.com a responsive one.
Then de-index magento.
