The URL scrape referers to PPV sources such as Trafficvance, Leadimpact, 50onRed that use adware. You can't add url's like that to ZP to target. With ZP you can target keywords but the results are never that good, you would need to run RON with them for the best results.
Well after trying to run keyword traffic on ZP, as mentioned above traffic was VERY slow. Switch to RON to get some data...
Would I be better off switching to another pop/redirect traffic source?...50onred, trafficvance, etc...or is the problem more me?
I ran RON for $100 and only got 4 conversions = $9. However, I realized that I failed to set up my tracking correctly and failed to pass the click id and target to the tracker so it seems I wasted $100. After finding my problem and correcting my tracking, I am running another $50 RON.
I was advised by a friend to run a keyword campaign with keywords related to my offer "Apple Watch"...i.e. - discount apple watch, free apple watch, apple watch giveaway, etc. so I set that up as well. We will see which performs better.
QUESTIONS:
1. When testing PPV, do you need to test at various bid levels? I was advised to run RON test traffic at both high bid position and low bid positions to find traffic?...true or false?
2. Is there a preferred/best PPV Source? Following the iAmAttila Case Study, he uses a PPV that allows adding domains. I started with Zeropark because I was already set up there. I have looked into 50onRed and Traffic Vance. Is there a "best" for this type of campaign?
3. I realize I'm new and dont know a lot, but RON seems like a waste...very small likelihood that i will reach either an Iggy Azalea fan or someone looking for an Apple watch. Is this correct thinking?...or am I missing something?
Thanks for any and all assistance.
This is the 2nd time I have tried to correct this issue without success. Links are below:
- Mundo Offer link = http://chlcotrk.com/mt/w284x29464w23...2s224/&subid1=
- CPV Lab Campaign link = http://www.modern-healthy-living.com...adab284a31e6b2 &keyword={keyword}&target_url={target_url}&matc h={ match}&geo={geo}&cid={cid}&target={target}
- Mundo Postback link = http://www.modern-healthy-living.com...p&cid=%SUBID1%
What am I missing??? Everything else (target url, target, keyword, etc.) is being passed correctly...but not conversions.
Thanks for any help.
I would focus more on Zane's departure from one direction. I would think that's a much more impactful trending topic at the moment.

So it has been while since my last update. So I was running traffic to gather data. After 3 days of testing and working through tracking issues, I found that my clicks fell off the table. The Mundo report showed going from 50 clicks to 35 clicks to 2 clicks on 3 consecutive days. I was told by someone helping me (who I also gave access to all my links in good faith) that the traffic was bad and continue to run to get better traffic. Ran 4 more days with the same results.
So like any good, learning affiliate, I decided to split test with another campaign - same offer, same traffic source, same budget (links not shared) - and found that clicks came back to a normal standard (33 clicks on $18 spend).
So my question is...was it bad traffic or was it likely something else??? I am still learning and trying to get this ZP campaign off the ground so any advice is very much appreciated.
Why not run RON without a keyword first?
I think you have a low ctr, I advise to split test several landers.
Maybe try a survey method with apple questions?
Why not make them related to the apple watch you were targeting in the first place like:
What kind of (color) Apple Watch® do you want ?
Sport
Standard
Edition
-Add the iPhone 6 to your new apple watch on 24 april.
-Less than 10 days left to add the iPhone 6 and apple watch to your collection ( say apple watch is out of stock but will be offered later)
Just ask interesting questions and make them think the chance is big they will win the sweep.
You're trying to get an email and not a mobile pin or a pay per call so I might be wrong but I would test more landing pages and maybe similar offers on other networks.
Spent some time working on spying. Was inspired to do so after talking with AM and reading replies to How do you spend your time??? post. Have another campaign waiting to run - split test against current campaign. Just having to wait for Paypal to process transfer because I'm not spending enough with ZP to get credit card approved.
Here are some tips!
> Add some background sound.
> Create better LP should be like Christmas is 8 months early (It doesn't mean you add Santa in the LP).
> Use better buttons, Even 2000 Google.com looks better then this. I know Ugly works better but it has to look Legit rather then Scam-my. My first thought over your LP, FBI is going to come at my home with an First Copy Apple Watch.
> Al-though it's Good you're testing but targeting Justin Bieber and making LP over this girl? According to me made no sense.
It is something like, Targeting Weight Loss Guys and Providing them Mass Gainer.
Are you sure you want to target this much highly competitive keyword: Justin Bieber?
Million Dollar Advice: It's Apple Watch not Apple iWatch.
I don't know why Mundo is using iWatch there (As you have written offer name with iWatch only) But I am sure you need to double check!
Keep it up.
Good hustling man, keep pushing for it!
Is this still RON or did you end up switching back to keyword?
You need to get more data. Keep split testing landers, but you also need to look into your stats and see if there is anything you can optimize at this point. It will be difficult without enough conversions but at minimum you can start to see if certain browsers, OS's, devices, brands, etc are outperforming others as it relates to CTR. I just started ZP for a week now and testing like crazy. Another consideration is try running in a different GEO. I'm launched 3 additional geo's today and one of them is converting 5x over the initial GEO.
Are you running a PPV version on ZP or just redirect? One of my GEO's performed better on PPV. Just another thing you can test. To get the most traffic also try to stay top 2 bid position. Sometimes you have to go into the individual campaign and manually raise it.
Yeah you defo need more data. If you look at your landing page data in terms of statistical significance…

You’re only 67% confident that “Winner” is better than “LifestyleZ”.
Also, are you using exclamation marks to differentiate your landers? Haha, that’s gotta make things confusing doesn’t it?
For my own sanity I’d use something like "Lander A_001” where Lander A is the lander, and 001, 002 etc are the variations of it.
Thanks for the info regarding statistical significance. 2 quick questions:
1. Where did you find the calculator you used for this example?
2. What a reasonable confidence % to make a good conclusion about a winner?
Thanks again for the feedback.
The best calculator available on the Web at present to calculate split-tests between landers is http://www.peakconversion.com/2012/0...al-calculator/ .
Definitely use that in preference to other calculators, for reasons outlined here: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...Data-Read-This!
Thanks to the advice of Ruby Tunes and caurmen, I have actually stepped backwards in an effort to be more fundamentally sound. I have gone back to my original 3 landers and am running traffic until I find a statistically significant winner (90% certainty s a minimum as mentioned here). Also went with 2 new traffic sources per AMs advice - Propeller Ads and AdCash. A few conversions but no clear cut winner yet.
I need some advice...
I was reading a recent follow along by jennatalia - which is great by btw - and he refers to CTRs between 30-45%. I realize expertise and experience means a lot when creating LPs that get clicks...but my LPs which I ripped and modified are not even getting 1% CTR. WTF am I doing wrong here.
Do I need to be testing more LPs? I am currently still waiting for 1 of my 3 to statistically show superiority.
Is there an error in my method?
How do I improve CTR while allowing time for data to collect?
- See previous post for campaign details...
Thanks for any advice
Are you running on the same traffic source that was used by the ripped landing pages?
How did you manage to rip a propellorads lander?
Their CTRs are far lower than zeropark, which is lower than trafficvance/leadimpact.
Anybody got some advice for a newb???
Hey man.
I'm also trying to make it work in ZP, doing the same stuff as yours albeit in a different demography.
I faced the same barrier as yours.
I've ripped like 30 LPs. No clear cut winners. CTRs suck hell, less than 1%. Still in the red and trying to break out.
Just added you in Skype!
Hey guys
I am running exactly the same offers on the same traffic sources.
After 2 months I've finally managed to get my campaigns profitable.
Here is the 2 things that helped me the most:
- add onload popup (dialog)- this helped me to increase my ctr x2
- don't compromise with the server. I started with beyond's hybrid VPS and later I found out I was losing 30% of my traffic. PPV requires good servers that can handle more traffic coming in. I switched to VPS2048 and I also added CDN. that helped me for another CTR boost. Here is a great tutorial by Tyler from beyond hosting:
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-in-20-minutes!
Only those 2 things helped me to go from 1.02% lp ctr to my current one - 3.5%
I added you on skype
Boris that's some of the best advice I've ever come across regarding lander optimization!
Additional advice:
-First test a batch of completely different landers you've found through spying. Then take the winners and make versions of them.
-Try to create landers versions that are the same with only one thing different (e.g. sound vs. no sound, pop vs. no pop) so you can conclude that that element is a good/bad thing to include.
-Make sure you have statistically significant data before cutting landers (see here).
-Once you have a lander that's at least almost breaking even, test all similar offers you can find on all the affiliate networks you're signed up with, to find the best one. (If there are too many, can always narrow the list down by talking to AMs to get only the best ones.)
-When you have enough data, drill into your stats and consider cutting devices/models/carriers etc. Dayparting will be an option once you have a lot of data over a long period of time.
Don't lose heart and don't give up! Trust that continual optimization will result in a profitable campaign. If you test enough landers and offers, success is inevitable! Just a matter of time really.
Good luck!
