Facebook Utility App Installs

Hey everyone,

Just wanting to send out a generalised question about running utility apps on facebook...

Obviously they are lower payout offers with broad appeal but I am struggling to get them to do well on Facebook.

Here is what I know;

- Obviously a good CTR is needed
- To do this we need a an engaging image to match the our target audience
- Here are some simple calculations...
- With a 0.25c payout and a conversion rate of around 10%, our EPC would be 0.03.... So that then means we need a CPC of 0.01 to 0.02 to even think about scaling.

My AM tell me that they have affiliates doing massive volume on FB with these sorts of offers. With these sort of CPC's you would have to be doing tier 2 and 3 geos I would assume... Are you running landers or direct linking?

Anyway - let me know what you all think!

bump

one thing to note: FB mobile CPI conversions are impossible to track (i.e. pass conversion info back to facebook) unless the mobile app has Facebook SDK installed. I learned this the hard way.

why would you need to pass it back to FB if youre using a tracker?

You're correct. You'd just have the postback for your tracker placed at the network and you'd have all the data you need there.

Tracking conversions on FB is useful if the FB's campaign algorithm is set to optimize for conversions which can be pretty powerful.

Agreed, if available.
