Stm ase
For those that attended, I think it's 100% agreed that the paintball event wasn't really paintball-centric.
Here's what I would like to recommend for sponsorship at ASE:
http://indoorextremesports.com/
Focus on force vs force play. No zombies, no twists. Just teams of affiliates shooting each other.
There are multiple options:
1) Paintball - The field is large enough to host a 8 v 8 game and uses reballs. Hurt about as much as paintballs--without the mess.
2) Black Ops Laser Tag - The field is equipped for 10v10 games and uses guns modeled after the m4 with appropriate weighting, and recoil. None of that stupid futuristic laser tag stuff. And if you're thinking about covering your sensors, think again. There is something that detects the sensor being blocked, and your gun will be disabled.
3) Archery Tag - Dodgeball rules, but with bow and arrow. Hit an opponent with an arrow, they're out. Catch an opponent's arrow, and you can bring a teammate back in. Field can support 8v8 games.

I'd be 110% game to do a full day of paintballing, maybe we should put a little something together when the time comes.

ummmm, Well it shouldn't be too difficult, affiliates are always down for a good time.
No reason it needs to be a big group, We could probably get 10-15 people just a couple weeks before ASE, hell even a few days before.. People were lining up to get signed up for paintball in London.

I'm looking at ASE event schedule, and it seems we can go Sunday or Tuesday (or both). I figure mid-day would be preferable.
Entry is $36/head for Tuesday. Who's game?

ASE is blaaaah. It feels like under 10% of attendees are actually affiliates. ASW is a lot better.

The event itself is usually blah. Its the afterparties and invite only gatherings that are more valuable.

If there is a considerable amount of STM'ers going it could still be a tonne of fun for sure, I don't remember the conference too well compared to ASW but the events were a lot of fun

There is an archery tag center in Las Vegas:

Maybe we can book a private affiliate event?

Agree on the 10% but on ASW it feels like people are coming more to have fun "Vegas style" when in NYC they are more focused on business.
Thats just how i feel

Some people see the glass as half empty, some see it half full.
To me, 10% affiliates sounds like there's less of "
Bro, what do you run? Tell me what's working for you, how are you running it? What are your creatives?" from every random person you see and more traffic sources, networks, and direct advertisers.
Plus the minimum $350/night for your bargain basement hotel in NYC standard of living does a nice job of filtering out only higher level people who would be flying in for the event (although there's still plenty of bridge & tunnel sneaking in from Long Island, NJ, Queens, Staten Island, etc..)
That said, it does suck that real estate is so expensive in NYC. Finding a venue for STM ASE last year was difficult -- a nice venue like the rooftop at the Standard STARTS at $25k for a 2 hour gathering for 75-100 affiliates (no food/drinks included). In Vegas, you can rent out an entire block for that much
