Lead gens, email submit, sweepstakes -- Why do they lie?

Hello Stackers!

since i wasn't enjoying so much everything happening around the app installs space, I listened to IamAttila and decided to accept it as a lost battle, which i made some little profit from but time to move on

and I have been diving into these kind of offers, like vouchers, email submits, sweepstakes... but my question is, why even when it says on the affiliate network - "converts on 1st page email submit" or zip submit... why dont you get paid when that happen? I have been testing the offers myself, and after email submit you get thrown at lots of random surveys which don't have anything to do with the first offer in the first place....

i was pissed off , since I was trying to get the conversion on purpose to undersand the funnel and i didnt get it, i can imagine how hard it might be for a user who's not after the conversion...

are all these kind of offers the same? or are there some where you actually get paid after 1st page email submit for example?

thanks!

Guillermo

Email submits usually do convert on the first page (2-3 fields) submit (if its a single optin offer). If it's a double optin then the pixel fires after user confirm email address. Anyways, it's well known the fact that email submit advertisers scrub leads like there is no tomorrow (if they wouldnt scrub the EPC would be out of this world and they would lose money)

The offers you see in the funnel is their attempt to monetise the user before they sell the lead to third parties.
