FB accounts banned?

I have a few high spend long running accounts getting banned today. Anyone else having the same problems?

08-10-2011 07:51 PM #2 ubershawn (Member)

What were the reasons?

08-10-2011 07:55 PM #3 paycoguy (Member)

Just disabled. No reason. I'm cloaking though, so they must have found out.

Mine got banned today as well... Still trying to figure out why, on 1 of them I was promoting a Facebook page for a client (dance event) and on the other one I was pushing legit dating campaigns (international). Hate them.

08-11-2011 12:28 AM #5 faclez (Member)

I got banned as well. I ran local ads for companies. For years..................... Banned today

08-11-2011 12:34 AM #6 bunchie (Member)

Yup got an account banned today as well - all clean and non-shady ads. What are they playing at?

08-11-2011 03:48 AM #7 agent007 (Member)

Crikeys! Sounds like Google Adwords MK II

08-11-2011 06:23 AM #8 netspace (Member)

Lost 2 accounts that were both running legit dating - both 100% different from each other.

08-11-2011 08:31 AM #9 ppcskills (Member)

Initially I thought I was banned also but then I noticed they've changed a little bit the interface and moved the manage campaigns link from under the "Create ad" button to the footer

08-11-2011 08:31 AM #10 adityan (Member)

does this have anything to do with them blanking referer? I switched off my referer based cloaking a while back coz I am losing too much traffic. my IP based cloaking is lacklustre

08-11-2011 01:45 PM #11 no1d ()

Me too, I lost 2 campaigns that made me over $50k in the last 3 months. I need a good cloaking script. Who can help me, I will pay for it.

08-11-2011 02:16 PM #12 scotchsales (Member)

i've also noticed that when you log into facebook/advertising it now says "contact our sales team" and sent me to some form. I just clicked advertising at the footer and got back in.

08-11-2011 03:31 PM #13 no1d ()

Offtopic: Why be stupid when you help someone, I helped other people and other people helped me, at some level you realize that you do not lose anything if you help someone.

I use a simple cloaking script and I make big money, I need a better script to make more money, this is the idea.

08-11-2011 04:21 PM #14 no1d ()

Think about the future, if people at Facebook will ban more and more accounts because of cloaking they will improve their ability to detect ads that are against TOS. Also you right from another point of view.

Anyone with accounts disabled today?

08-11-2011 06:13 PM #15 paycoguy (Member)

So far today the rest of my accounts are still alive. I'm currently building up new accounts.

08-11-2011 06:51 PM #16 richardx (Member)

one of my account got Daily Spend Limit Increased from $50 to $250 today. fresh just opened for 1 week. no idea how fb doing.

08-11-2011 10:28 PM #17 justingoff (Member)

All my ads got shut off last week. Account is still ok, but I cant get anything through.

08-12-2011 02:38 AM #18 stackman (Administrator)

damnnn i didn't see this!
2 of my accounts banned 2 days ago too

Look like they went on a little banning spree, i wasn't cloaking either.

08-25-2011 06:27 AM #19 showcasekid (Member)

mine was banned today. It was the 1st time i've been banned. I wasn't cloaking either. All my images were head shots for goodness sake.

08-25-2011 04:03 PM #20 cpakiller87 (Member)

I hope all you guys getting accounts banned left an right don't ruin it for us good lucks fellas

PS. seems like more people are getting banned here then WF lol

08-25-2011 04:54 PM #21 bigeasy123 (Member)

weird ive been running super black hat shit , and havent been banned , like im just using abit and switch and ive had over 300 ads denied this week , but still no account ban , now i owe around $1500 to them , im kinda getting scared ..should i pay it or not? according to all these bans it might be a risk. I think fb just wants to collect what i owe then they'll prob disable my account ...sketch

08-25-2011 07:15 PM #22 no1d ()

300 ads denied, 10 accounts banned...in this way in the future Facebook will take the same attitude as Google AdWords. Think twice before you submit an ad, your landingpage looks shady, think like them, you approve this ad? There are many posts in which talks about the approval ratio. When you cloaking make sure you're not caught, only in this way will make money.

Good luck.

Facebook has been having a hissy fit all month, lots of accounts banned etc, but it is approaching 4th quarter and if history repeats itself shit should become more relaxed soon.

08-26-2011 02:11 AM #24 w4rl0rdx (Member)

How are you guys making new accounts? I need one =/

09-01-2011 03:44 AM #28 polarbacon (Moderator)

also just a key point to consider....when your done with a camp.....delete it.....dont leave them hanging around......things change at FB by the day so......having a paused newly non compliant image = possible ban

09-01-2011 09:02 AM #29 zeno (Administrator)

^ yep it's definitely something to watch for. I think in FB's eyes a paused campaign is the same as an active one - they have no control over when you run it or pause it so consider it as "active", whether it is being served impressions or not. So if you have something shady and you've finished, definitely delete. Probably wiser to delete old finished ones regardless of how legit they are, never know what might shoot you in the ass.

09-01-2011 12:58 PM #30 eliquid (Member)

^^ normally what I do is when I am done with a campaign, i change the URL ending page to something easily accepted and allowed on FB related to the ad, then delete the campaign. I have found that for some reason after I delete the campaign I will still get a trickle of clicks for a couple months ( like 3-4 a week ) even after its deleted.

09-01-2011 09:29 PM #31 zeno (Administrator)

Lol random. Sometimes when I create campaigns (with API) I start them as schedule-paused, but they still get a flurry of impressions/clicks for about 10min. Spent like $30 in 10 minutes when I started one. On the bright side those few dozen ads that got clicked had 0.4-5.0% CTR and so I started it prematurely. CTRs stayed between 0.5% and 1% across heaps of ads and CPC dropped to $0.04. I was like HOLY SHIT 20+ ads with 0.5%+ CTR and <$0.10 CPC in less in hour from starting. So I opened the gas and let her run, running at the moment, my first successful campaign actually. Ballin'

Anyone who got his account suspended due to suspicious payment activity has been able to recover it?

Yesterday I removed my credit card and I added a new one. This new one with company name, registered in a different country, I was using a proxy, etc. I'm sure I triggered all the alarms. A few hours later the account was disabled.

When I tried to access to it, there was a form with several questions such if I had recently changed the credit card, if I was using different address, etc. (exactly everything I changed). And they would get back to me shortly.

I had run only 1 campaign ever with that account, dating, Real Mature Singles to be more precise. Nothing shady at all.

So anyone with a similar experience?

09-07-2011 09:56 PM #33 deondup (Member)

Don't use proxies - unless its close to where your credit card is registered.

Also, be careful when changing payment details - it always flags your account.

IMO dating is considered "spam" by FB and they will hate on you for it.

09-08-2011 12:04 AM #34 getgreen (Member)

Just had my account disabled. What the heck should I do now? Today was the first time I ran ads in a long time, had 2 ads get approved then they were running then got the dreaded email. Any ideas on what I should do now?

09-08-2011 06:38 AM #35 chris_m (Member)

Same here... Just got the email. Only ever ran dating, but all above board. Annoying thing is, I was just going to use it to start promoting a local business! F#ckin' hate Facebook....

Pretty much all mainstream dating domains are now flagged - even Be2!

Since when/where does it says so? I've running it for months, direct linking, not cloaking and I'm even stating "Real Mature Singles" in all my ads. 100% approval rate, and as for now I still have active campaigns on several accounts without having received even a warning, ever.

I would not be surprised if it's only a matter of time. Look at their MyWot rating, it's horrible: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/realmaturesingles.com

I would be very careful if you are still running it.....don't be surprised if your account gets popped....

BE2 for which country?

Some BE2 domains still have a pretty good rating at mywot.

.com is still ok for example:
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/be2.com

09-08-2011 05:42 PM #45 getgreen (Member)

My account was promoting Real Mature Singles too, then after getting some ads approved my account was banned. Not sure what to do now at all.

09-08-2011 08:13 PM #46 phoenix (Member)

PLEASE!!! anyone running ANYTHING on FB.

Check with WOT add-on for FF.

if you are RED (your links, offer or tracking or LP)

Switch to a link that is GREEN. [google topic]

FB is stupidly and blindly using this tool and it is ruining legit as well un-legit business.

Personally, I think a class action suit against WOT is in order since users are marking sites as scam or spam that are not [ya audible.com and disney.com are spam WTF???!!!] but no one ever had the guts or b*lls to take on google en-masse. I really dont see IM community do anything about this but what it usually does 'whine, roll over and then find some other place"

I still remember people (even some people on here) that told me last 3 years "oh, that's not a threat or problem. its too small" [ I have good p202 freinds with banned FB accounts because of this BS]

Well, they might have been right until FB partnered with them. (may 2011)

https://www.facebook.com/notes/faceb...50174826745766

http://facecrooks.com/Safety-Center/...-Facebook.html

At that point, an industry wide "Oh, shit!" should have been echo'd and networks, affiliates and advertisers take action.

This isnt 'chicken little'. this is more like "the little dutch boy" or "the emperors new clothes"

There is a hole and the ruler is nude!

http://bitsquad.co.in/2011/06/how-to...ook-using-wot/

I will say it again.

With-out a collective effort this will get much worse and spread.

"those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it... and many times worse!"

oh and one last 'bomb' if u dig deeper u find out they have a "mass tool" this allows them to take your IP and mark ALL your sites as 'spam, scam' AND NEVER ACTUALLY VISIT YOUR SITE!

infact, there are whole bunch of you that your tracking links & domain and IP are on a WOT shitlist and is being spread to other reporting agencies. BOTH cpvlabs AND prosper202 and tracking 202 are ALREADY TARGETTED EN MASS!

So, its already worse than you thought.

Now are we going to do anything or ???

/ENDRANT

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that I did got my account back. They just wanted an explanation since I added a card registered to a business in a different country from where I log in from.

About Be2. Facebook doesn't seems to have an issue with Be2. The problem I had: I was running Be2 in Belgium/Netherlands, direct linked (during the approval stage I was B&S to Be2.nl), and the facebook "after-approval-sneaky-check-the url-again" team clicks gets redirected to benaughty or something

country redirects are a problem with a lot of networks..especially if the redirects are linking to adult stuff..you could ask the network to remove the redirect on your account or use a geoscript to filter the traffic..

prob one of the #1 reasons why accounts get banned....

that and/or a offer goes down and it goes to a non-compliant email submit....

DELETE YOUR OLD CAMPS! word to the wise
You would be better off Modifying your old campaigns so that they don't break any rules. It's highly unlikely that facebook does a hard delete on anything like this in their database. Most likely they just flag the record as deleted in their database. It appears deleted to you, but it's still available to them for reporting and auditing purposes.

09-20-2011 12:54 AM #52 stackman (Administrator)

I agree with m0thm4n, the campaigns are still there, so maybe modifying + deleting is the smartest option. At the end of the day Facebook is as reckless as Google was when banning accounts so even with half this work still be prepared to get canned
