While sniffing out FB Ad traffic, I noticed most visitors came with a FB referrer attached. To be safe, I modified my cloaker to send visitors with blank referrers to my cloaked page. Today, I wake up and find out 75% of my traffic have no FB referrer anymore, and thus, 75% of the traffic is sent to my non-money page. Annoying as hell.
Anyone else see this type of data? Any idea why FB would do this?
I don't think FB can do this technically. Normally you see no referrers because of users browser settings, proxy servers, security appliances, .... .
In the past i cloaked all traffic with no refferers to keep me safe. But i stopped doing it, since i lost to much good/clean fb user traffic.
FB can def blank referrers if they wanted to. CPVLab and t202 have the ability to blank referrers using meta refresh and auto javascript form submissions. I don't see why FB couldn't either.
Yah I just stopped cloaking visitors with no referrers, so it's not that big of a deal.
