Anyone running on Yahoo Gemini / Instream Ads successfully? (39)

i know short answer is yes ... but they have no way to exclude mobile traffic on their stream ads that i know of, which i've found to be really shitty quality relative to desktop/tablet. support doesn't know much about their own platform (is only about a year old) and low daily budgets don't complete when bidding in a competitive bid range.

anyone else want to share their experience with this?

New to the forum but I've been using Gemini for a while. System is primitive, but super effective because of the massive traffic you can drive. We were seeing about 5-10 cents for a mobile click depending on CTR.

No such thing as straight desktop traffic. However if you send your rep an email, they can set your campaign with an emphasis on desktop. There's a number of other demographics your rep can do from the backend (ages, income level, retargeting, etc).

What vertical are you focused on and what type of ads are you working with? Their approval processes can be tricky if you are doing straight up affiliate links and offers.

Im doing only one offer now. Its a cpl offer that pays $2.4. I only run offers that I think will be of their liking. I tried the "get paid to complete surveys" and they didnt aprove it because it was "bad quality" (or something like that, i dont remember what was their exact excuse). I havent tried a lot yet thats why I want to join this mastermind if you would accept me.

To everyone messaging about the Gemini mastermind; The mastermind was dissolved months ago! It's no longer happening despite my STM handle.

But the question remains. Is anyone using it? Are they ok with whitehat affiliate offers being run through affiliate networks?
Is it better worse than Google in terms of traffic quality, targeting options, cost?

Yes people use it. No, most affiliate offers will not be allowed, but some are. Try infoproducts and more polished stuff. Quality is decent. Targeting options rather slim. They have age, gender but no way to choose device types/browsers/os.

Just a forewarning... only test there if you have a decent/high testing budget... their algorithm is still changing all the time and learning how it works will definitely take a good amount of money and testing. And no I'm not going to share how it works :-).

I sent an email to yahoo gemini and they gave me that link when i asked if i could target only desktop.
I wasn't able to set it up though, looks pretty confusing and obsolete

It is also very "fat finger friendly", lol especially on mobile devices, so you should budget and strategize accordingly.

Hey Andrea, that won't work... the CEO recently took away device segmentation. The bulk upload tool is great for uploading a lot of ads/adgroups, but for everything else it's pretty useless (campaign level targeting options).

Agreed, I hate their mobile traffic these days. Their in-stream and true native traffic is great, but their partner traffic from Flurry and other apps/publishers has performed terrible for us both in the past and presently.

we just have to live with the traffic splitting between good quality (in stream and true native) and bad quality (Flurry and other apps/publishers)
