Background
I'm happy to say my first ever adult mobile affiliate campaign was successful at one point, and for a decent length of time. That this was in adult dating on TrafficJunky is itself even moreso a cause for celebration.
Due to the circumstances under which I was able to run the campaign to begin with, cash flow was an issue, which made scaling difficult. I finally resolved these issues on the 21st of this month, only to return to find my goldmine thoroughly pillaged.
To make matters worse, I got the news this morning that my payout took a $0.05 hit. For today's stats so far this would have made the difference between profit and loss.
On the bright side, I have a pretty good idea of why my lead quality has gone south. I'm chalking this up to not thinking twice about some of the foreign language ad copy I had swiped and reused. Perhaps a better moral to this story would be to not rely on swiped ad copy, period. I did at least customize my images, but saved myself the expense of having any copywriting translated.
Stats shown start on January 29th

I'll run this campaign to the best of my ability today and tomorrow for the sake of reaching the minimum payout at my network. I'm making a point of staying ahead of any cash flow issues moving forward. If by some miracle I manage to pull this thing back into the green I'll of course stay on it.
Where to next?
Resources Available

Reading list: Finch Premiums, STM, Tested Advertising Methods, Ca$hvertising, and any blog updates from Charles Ngo, Finch, and Iamatilla
Traffic Sources: Already approved on many, including Juicy Ads. Only experienced with TJ so far though.

Tracker:
Server: BeyondHosting.net
Tools: Photoshop, Google Web Designer, Coda 2, Codekit. If time becomes available I'm hoping to work on a custom dashboard for keeping updated on offers from the various networks, consolidating stats from
Experience: Between the above campaign and work in a JV, I have roughly $1k worth of experience in adult dating on Traffic Junky at this point. Some experience on POF as well, but I don't have a figure for it.
The Current plan . . .
Is to come up with a plan. All signs seem to point to sticking with adult dating, in spite of catching wind of some ballsy short term opportunities while reading this board.
I'm going to take the weekend to gather my thoughts and scout out a new opportunity, and hopefully be ready with banners and landers come Monday. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to new verticals or traffic sources, but preferably not both at the same time.
I'll update this thread in the meantime as I go along.
Yesterday's stats
Spend: $37.40
Revenue: $29.05
ROI: -22.3%
Good timing for crossing the payment threshold. I'm pausing it, and will have a look to see if there's a breakout campaign possible somewhere. Otherwise this one looks like it's toast, unless someone suggests I test it again on another traffic source.
Current Tasks
1. Pick 2 or 3 offers.
2. Streamline banner creation process and set up templates for photoshop batch processing.
3. Streamline landing page development workflow. Being comfortable with custom coding everything is nice, but I'm going to see if using Muse or Google Web Designer speeds up my process.
4. Brush up on my copywriting.
I'm hoping to have all of my banners and landers ready to be deployed before the weekend is over.
Unless something new comes up, I'll update again on Monday.
Good job man keep it up!
Good News for Today so far
Rather than completely cutting the campaign, I decided to just trim down by placement to see if I had a breakout campaign.
Yesterday's closing stats:
Spend: $24.73
Revenue: $24.50
ROI: -0.93%
A good start. Today's stats so far are even better:
Spend: $3.00
Revenue: $10.50
ROI: 250%
But this is just a snapshot of the day so far, of course. Either way, it looks promising, but makes scaling on TJ alone an issue.
Sunday's Closing Stats:
Spend: $6.21
Revenue: $16.45
ROI: 164.9%
In Contrast, Monday (TJ maintenance, waiting for deposit to be processed and so forth)
Spend: $7.66
Revenue: $4.20
ROI: -45.17%
My updates might not have much substance right now, but this at least holds me accountable for my progress.
Once I'm really moving, I'll be sharing stats, angles, banners, copy, etc. All I really plan on withholding (somehow) are my Geo's and sources, given the nature of the vertical.
Awesome! Im glad to see that green!
I wish I could give you some input but I don't have much data to work with. Lets get another update!
