How do i get decent fonts on windows? (4)

[SOLVED] Amazon Workspaces / Windows Bad Fonts

Im using Amazon WorkSpaces for a virtual desktop which run windows 7 with Chrome.

Thing is - fonts on STM look like shit.



Anyone know why this is? I dont have the issue on my mac - STM looks super!!

Actually Firefox on Windows 7 on Amazon Workspaces seems to be fine:

I had this issue in the past. If you haven't tried it already, search for "cleartype" in the search box and it should bring up a configuration panel where you can change the displaying of fonts to your liking.

I couldnt find the option in Chrome. I did find a cleartype setting in Windows control panel - but its just a "Tuner" and did not make much difference.

I suspect im looking in the wrong place?

Ok it looks like the problem was a missing font on my windows install. After installing the font and rebooting the Virtual desktop everything is fine one as you can see below.

The missing font was: Roboto
