Tracking Legal Lead Gen Conversions?

Hey All,

I'm about to enter my journey in affiliate marketing. I had initially picked a skincare offer but a friend suggested I should focus my time on doing legal lead gen since I'm an attorney and familiar with the space. Since i'm a lawyer, I actually have the perk of making deals directly with lawyers which can't be accomplished for non-lawyers (stupid ethics rules).

So for example I want to refer leads to a law firm and if those leads convert to customers, I get paid. How can I possibly track this. It seems like the only way would be based on a trusting relationship of the law firm since they would have to let me know this type of information.

Also if I do just intend to sell the leads (without them turning into customers), what would be the best way to track it?

I ran a ton of lead generation for offline companies... Including solar, insurance, and real estate. Unless you absolutely trust them and you can float the media costs ( I'm assuming you're paying for traffic and not doing Seo)... I don't recommend this route as u have no idea if and when these conversions happen.. Not to mention the dollar amount. By doing so you are taking all the risk (I.e. patsy in poker game)... Especially with things like law where you have no control over the outcome.

If you want fair.. Charge them per lead and let them assess roi quality over time

I can always set up my own law firm, turn leads into customers, hire lawyers to handle the work and keep 100% (after expenses) but not sure I want to go that route either
