Tracking the Appetizer tutorial?

So I am launching a campaign using the Appetizer tutorial, my question is should I track this campaign using Voluum? I see the section where I link Decisive and F5 so that Decisive can track my conversions, so I am not sure if I should also set up Voluum or not.

Tracking is essential. Just sign up to Voluum. It's free as long as you don't exceed 100.000 events per month.

Yes I know it is essential but according to the tutorial Decisive is set up to track conversions, is it possible to set both Voluum and Decisive to track at the same time?

You just have to select in Volume a campaign using Decisive as traffic source. Then submit that campaign URL to Decisive. The CPA Network will post conversions to Voluum back and Voluum will post the conversion to Decisive back.
That way you can track on Decisive and Voluum.

The Appetiser is written specifically so that you don't need to use a tracker to get started - all the tracking is done in Decisive.

However, it's a good idea to get used to using a tracker. You can indeed use Voluum in the middle between a network and a traffic source, and still pass all data on to the traffic source - just make sure your postbacks are set correctly.
