Holy Bajezus Batman! (tracking questions)

I've been doing research but can't seem to come up with a cohesive answer to all this so here's what I'm thinking...

Getting a VPS from WiredTree, advertising on POF, tracking with PofPRO (it's a tracking platform yea?), building landing pages using LEADPAGES.net, and promoting CPA and Clickbank offers.

Possibly building a list and redirecting visitors to a Clickbank offer immediately after confirmed opt-in.

So...

I'm wondering does this seem like a solid set up that can flow smoothly on the tracking side?

If my CPA networks have affiliate link options for sub id 1, sub id 2, sub id 3, why would I need something like PofPRO or Prosper?

If you were building an email list would you solely track opt-ins or would you try to track which banner ad lead to the opt-in which lead to the initial $$$ conversion?

I realize if I'm just tracking opt-ins there will be no green ROI/Profit data showing up in PofPRO. I wanna see the green!

Any ideas? What would you do?

This technical stuff...whew...any help is appreciated.

We've got several users doing exactly what you're saying with POFpro (create ads, test landing pages, promoting Clickbank products), so you definitely are on the right track in terms of promoting on POF. I'm not sure any of them use Lead Pages though.

Your CPA networks' sub IDs are very rudimentary variables that allow you to pass some data into those variables, but they do not split test landing pages, they do not track impressions/spend on your creatives, they do not upload ads for you, they do not show you what campaigns/ads have the highest ROI, they do not show you what periods of the day yield the most profits, they do not generally give you enough information to optimize, and the list goes on.

I can just tell you that you're on the right path, and a month or two down the line, you'll realize how much POFpro is doing for you. To answer your question, you should be tracking the initial conversion, and if you do want to put in an opt-in email lander, to track that outside of the system.

Hope that gives you some confidence in the path you're taking.

Hey thanks for your response, yeah that helps.

By initial conversion do you mean a $$$ conversion? or just a conversion in general, whether that's an opt in, a cpa lead, or a sale?

I'd avoid LeadPages and use hand-coded landers. However, other than that, sounds like a really solid setup!

I would track the initial conversion that pays out $

@caurmen
I hear handcoded landers are generally lighter and load faster.
However I don't have much interest in learning to write code, is there another easy to use landing page resource you recommend?

It's the marketing and psychology that really sparks my interest.

@ffclogin
Got it! Thank you.
