Test run in Belgium, then take it to France?

Hi everyone,

I am running on a tight budget until early march, and I was wondering:

Since I am fluent in french, would it be a good idea to start running an offer in Belgium(where the traffic is small but also very cheap), then once optimized, take it to France?
I'm talking about mobile offers on Decisive.

Also, would that allow me to try higher paying offers from the start? Average CPM is 0.04$ it seems.

Hello,

I'm not sure this is really a good idea. Belgium is not the best country to train for french traffic, as you know dutch and german are also languages used there. So it's a bit more complicated to target Belgium than France i think, because of the 3 (2 main) languages involved here...

Thank you for the answer, it has me thinking.
I guess I could target by regions..
I also tought this was a nice plan since I still have a lot to learn, and would rather spend less while doing so

Just limit your daily budget and start directly in France

Targeting Belgium is difficult. It is like targeting Switzerland. Half your ads will be seen by people whose first language is not the language of your ad.

Just advertise directly in France would be my advice.

Exactly! I don't know if the thread starter is flemish but half of the time the geolocated ads are french while I speak dutch and believe me no flemish speaking person is clicking on french ads so you will lose a big audience there.
Maybe we can test some ads together? I'd rather do a dutch test and then move the ads to the netherlands. Think that would be a better test audience since most belgians are stupid when it comes to internet and click on everything and if you end up in a nice conversion that's fine.

I agree, belgians are not the smartest when it comes to ads..
I'm from the french speaking part, and I thought runnin ads in Belgium could be profitable pretty fast considering the low costs. I'm not sure about this reasoning but I thought I'd give it a try.
I'd be happy to partner up to run some ads, I'll hit you up
