A couple of ideas for you:
1. For a starting point, I would just ying/yang it (think opposite on everything). It's the first thing I do.
2. Hit up family and friends for pros/cons. I'll say "tell me three things you love/hate about XYZ" - or read user reviews for ideas:
3. Use the app, product or service for 15 minutes. Magical ideas will form in your head. I'm always amazed at how many marketers have never even used what they try to promote
4. Try a banner that says "Download UC Browser". Believe it or not, many people will just do what you say. Don't ask me why though... I have no idea
5. Take an angle from another vertical that has worked in the past and switch out the product. Example - "1 Weird Trick To Speed Up Your Downloads". Bad example but you get it.
6. Highjack recognized brands/products. Make a list of ten popular apps or sites. Example -"Download Top Browser of Instagram Celebs!".
7. Rotate banners with people's favorite colors. Make a banner that's pink and use a CTA like - "I Love My Pink Browser! Click Here..."
I hope this helps a bit.

i always look through the user reviews for the apps when i am trying to come up with angles.
so if there are a number of reviews stating, "this app boosted my battery" or "this app made my dick grow", i would turn those into angles.
(problem is that there are a ton of fake reviews now...)

.
awesome tips man!
love the ying/yang in particular.
in the book CRACKING CREATIVITY, the author uses something similar. "turn an idea/thoughts 180 degrees."
it's the only thing I took away.
it's an awesome way to think creatively / if you're stuck in your thinking process.
PS: UBONGO is a cool board game that forces you to think ying/yang ...or you get grilled
