Are there advantages to creating a niche site (Auto insurance for example) and drive traffic like SEO, media buy, etc to the niche site to collect data/leads versus creating a campaign with banner, landing page, then straight to affiliate offer?
I assume the niche site would generate leads at a much cheaper rate versus creating an ad campaign? Guess I'm comparing spend per lead with niche site vs. ad campaign.
I'm asking because I have someone that owes me $X amount of money and wants to repay me by creating more of an authority site and he recommends to help build and establish the whole offer and site, get it setup and moving, starting SEO and get some media buy setup and then turn it over to me. So I would have to maintain it and build on for years if it works out well.
So would that be a worth it to start out versus going straight to media buy and campaigns? If this route with the niche site tend to offer much cheaper rate I can always do both. Any insights, advice? thanks guys
