Optimizing Low Payout Offer? (16)

Optimizing Low Payout Offer?

I just ran a test today with a gaming offer on Neverblue.

It pays $1.10 per conversion and I'm direct linking.

After spending $20, I made $17.60 for a small loss - so I'm thinking of ways I could optimize it to get it profitable as its got a lot of scalability.

Right now, the only thing I can think of to get in the green would be lowering my CPC. But it's pretty low at $0.19, so I don't know how much lower I could get it.

I thought about adding a lander to increase conversion rates - but I've heard that it usually lowers conversions on offers with such low payouts.

I guess it's better to get the offer right in front of the user as adding an extra action (click) to the process may decrease the conversions?

Is there some other way of optimizing this campaign that I'm missing?

Getting $0.10 clicks would be nice - so I can focus on that for now since I'm out of other ideas.

Thanks for the help!

What's your CTR?

Get a high one > lower clicks > higher EPC.

You could also try dayparting and seeing how that effects everything.

My best ads are running at about a 0.45% - so there is room for improvement on that side of things.

Dayparting may help a lot. I got next to no conversions this morning and made up a lot of losses in the afternoon.

@lavish : Does Facebook have dayparting ?

What about day 2? I've had days where I double my money followed by days where I loose or break even so I would see how the next 2 days go before taking action.

It's true that building a lander in-between increases the 'distance' to the money-page, however, the whole point of the lander is to pre-sell the offer. Does the game's lander presell itself? I'm sure you've seen plenty of game-banners that are really rich as in a flash banner actually playing in-game footage or some other 3D graphic action. If you can load your presell lander with something like that, it might presell it enough to the point where it attracts more attention as opposed to the standard lander.

Let me know how it works out, if you good at building landers and running constant split test on landing page elements, angles, and headlines I might have an interesting proposition for you. Msg me if you can keep it near break even.

Depending on the offer dayparting will make a difference. Especially if you're running on tight margins. Generally offers perform better after 5pm but, as always, you should test for yourself.

At 0.45% you're paying 0.19c a click? Get some volume on those ads. You should be able to get it down further. I've paid 4c a click on ads in that CTR area.

Just do it manually. I do.

Thanks for the help everyone!

@lavish: Yeah, I think it's definitely a volume thing - I'm hoping they run more impressions to those ads tomorrow - because I've heard a 0.5% CTR brings way cheaper clicks than $0.19. Thanks for the heads up on the after 5pm thing too. I will try split testing that with this campaign.

@clickright: I will try a lander with this campaign as well. I'll let you know how it goes.

Try to get more money on the offer NB generally runs at 30+ % margins. Even if you got 15% more that will put you in the green.

I'm having the same problem. I'm going to ask for a pay bump tomorrow and increase my CTR.

Wow, I must have been sitting here too long lol. How did I not think of asking for a bump?

@ubershawn : I have a 0.2% CTR with a 0.16 CPC, the payout $1.13, i suggest you get bump for your payout, this increase your margin, then increase your daily budget.. FB is greedy, once you get more impressions and clicks, your high CTR will lower down your CPC

the campaign is earning little profit

Keep running the campaign and watch your CPC decrease on day two, then even further on day three.

With low EPC offers you can never use your first day's expenses as solid data, because your CPC is always artificially inflated by the first batch of clicks.

With a .4 CTR and a bit of traffic your cpc should get down (depending on your demographic) to somewhere like 0.07 to 0.12 cents a click. At the very least...
