Complete newbie to AM

How do you decide on the offer or traffic source you should be running?

I'm familiar with FB platform and consider using that but for some reason my campaigns are usually like $0.30-$0.50/click. I see other people doing it at $0.02 so not sure if I'm doing something wrong or they're just able to get cheaper traffic somehow (other countries, different audience)

Should I go with a super competitive industry like supplements/weight loss, etc.. since that's where the volume is or something more niche specific?

I've printed out a ton of threads from here to go through but any advice or pointing me in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks

I'd recommend trying out some easier AM stuff before jumping into FB. PPV is probably the easiest form of paid advertising for noobs in my opinion because you only need to worry about landing pages/ direct linking, and your targets. No banners necessary.

You can make any niche work if you come at it with a good angle. How do you determine that? By testing out many different angles. Check out some of the threads here on PPV and see what you think.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. When do you recommend using a landing page vs direct linking. I was under the impression best strategy was to use a landing page to collect emails so you can remarket to them in the future and are actually building some value for yourself.

Also is a pre-sell page generally better than a lead capture page?

Most of the time a landing page is good. But generally, you want to run a quick test with direct linking, to see how the offer converts, if it does well, then make a landing page to try and increase your conversion rate. Make 3-5 very different landing pages and test to see which works best.

It depends on what your strategy is. Are you trying to build a following whom you can send emails to for the long term? If so you can build an email list- but keep in mind that requires a lot more work: writing/outsourcing emails, optimizing email subject lines, and copy.

I suggest you get a few profitable campaigns in your portfolio first, and then move on to list building.
