Hi Stackers
Just curious, do you guys promote app installs for popular apps or games? for example I saw that Game of War has a high payout and they did alot of promotion such as an ad for the Super Bowl and hired Kate Upton to promote their game. With so much branding they've done would it be considered saturated or something I should go for?
I remember seeing something that a user needs to see an ad atleast 7 times before they decide to click or download it. That being, if they saw a game consistently being advertised and if it went through my lander that I might get a higher conversion %?
Answer, as usual is ... try it and see.
Yup, popular apps or games can definitely work. I've run some tests with Game of War myself.
All the media around it will probably hurt and help your campaigns in about equal measure - you're right about the "see an ad 7 times" thing.
As cmdeal says, test it and see!
I am conflicted about this since I have heard both sides of the story. I know it depends on the angle and how you promote the game but I've seen/read people do very well with branded games (high conversions) and then when I read the follow alongs, people say that for example DU Speed Booster in Brazil has been done to death that is why conversion are bad...
Given DU Speed Booster doesn't have Kate Upton promoting their app but in both cases branded apps and apps that are saturated have given completely different results...
Really, you don't know until you try. I know when you are starting out you want as much validation and handholding as possible, but the formula for success is pretty simple:
+
B. Test, test, test, test
We probably test out 25 new things every single day, whether angles, traffic sources, offers, countries. Of the 25 things we test, 20 of them lose money, about 4 are at breakeven, and 1 become a gusher of profits.
In order to find that 1 gusher, however, we needed to have tested the other 24 things.
I hear...people say...I read...
If people are making $1,000+ profit a day with DU Speed Booster in Brazil...are they going to say
a) It's awesome, you should try it
or
b) it has been done to death...move on
Launch and see for yourself.
Don't be sheep.
